I couldn't wait any longer to wait for someone else to make this a thread. I'm psyched that Seth Payne is back, that AJ is playing, and that I am going to a killer tailgate party tonight. Are the starters getting a full half tonight?
i heard this morning that Carr and DD will likely see only about 10 plays or so, each. did i hear that wrong?? anyone else hear that?
I will be at the game tonight, it'll be my first Texans game and the first football game i've seen in person since Cody Carlson led the Oilers to a 2-14 season I heard on 610 that the starters would play a series or two, which isn't a surprise; Seth Payne will play quite a bit, i believe i heard 20 to 25 plays.
Yeah . . . he's dreamy. I'm going. Starters will play for about one to two series. Our backup QBs need to step it up today. Has Ragone looked bad or what. Maybe we should have drafted Simms.
I want to see the 1st String offense and defense run the 1st half and 1st part of the 2nd half. The preseason games always start off good for the team in the beginning and then falls apart in the end.
Im going to the game even though I think it will be a yawner. No D. Robinson, plus Carr and Davis will only play the first series.
Banks looks terrible. I've been watching that guy since he was in St. Louis and its the same ole problem. One good game, ten terrible ones. I can't believe some people actually thought he should have had a shot at the starting spot last season. This sums up Banks' career. He got traded from St. Louis, they win the SuperBowl. He gets benched in Baltimore, they win the SuperBowl. Simms looked Okay, until he reverted into his old ways throwing into double coverage. One thing he has improved on is hitting the receiver in stride, something he could never do at UT.
The reason we can't win preseason games is because our reserves compared to any other NFL teams reserves is like night and day.
They looked flat the entire game, but nevertheless i enjoyed it. I still can't see how people will leave a game with 10 minutes to go. I had tickets on the 40 yard line, 8 rows up from the Tampa Bay bench. There was no way in hell i was leaving until the clock said zero.
What other season have we done that? First season-hung our hat on opening game win v. Dallas. Second season-hung our hat on 7 of 8 games at home going down to the wire, including defeat of NFC Champs and OT loss to New England.
Oh, because they went 1-3 in the pre-season the season is already over. I don't have the numbers, but the starters performed well...the team just doesn't have much depth, which is a key factor to preseason wins. If the key starters stay healthy, this team should win 7-9 games. Do Cowboys fans just hate the fact that Houston has a team again, or what? Any knowledgable football fan could at least admit this is a decent team...the same way I can admit the Cowboys have an at least decent team. Oh by the way, the Pats lost to the Jaguars yesterday.
