MDA also gives me confidence that he can find roles for athletic players and simplify their responsibilities. Just the confidence he gives to players would be huge.
I just meant how the dude went from being a talented player that a lot of teams gave up on and not being able to stay in the league to signing on a team that took a flyer on him with zero expectations of him and actually became a solid rotation player...
Bruno is ready! Clutch said, he was two tears away from being two years away.....this is his fourth year!
Just don't get your hopes too high. I like this move, I like our chances with our development staff, and I like Nene's influence
"So why do it?" This is why I suggested earlier to consider this solely as a way to psuedo-retain him (for 60 days) after we cut him. He could still sign with someone else, but he'd leave the $50k on the table by not playing for the Vipers, once cut. Since no one else signed him to any guaranteed money, this $50k bonus, along with intangible interest in Nene and George de Puala (on Vipers) probably was his best offer. This is a training camp contract. imo: doubtful he makes the 15-man roster.
Non-guaranteed contracts do not count in salary matching, so ATL would have to consider him an asset of value on his own. But if they do, why didn't they just sign him already to that crappy contract Morey signed him to. You can easily outbid what Morey gave him, simply by offering partial guaranteed money, vs an Exhibit 10.
He is on a minimum deal, just no guaranteed money, just like Edwards and all Exhibit 10s. That's what an Exhibit 10 is.
