A movie about gay cowboys is bound to be a box office success... and Hollywood wonders why they continue to fail.
Think about it. Gay cowboys? These guys are supposed to be badasses, defenders of the Great American Frontier, and their gay? ***Spoilers*** They're gay.
i saw the preview for this while I was in Humble, I thought about all the people who would grumble about the "gay cowboy movie" sure enough, this confirms my belief: people in Texas dont like Gay Cowboys
Wait, you're saying a guy who is a cowboy is not manly enough, because he likes men over women? doesn't that make him even more manly?
I don't know of any straight man that "couldn't wait" to get to see this film or any other non-comedic gay film... even if you are straight and have nothing against gay men, it still just isn't your cup of tea. However, if it has hot gay women... there is a ticket for success, well unless that movie is Bound.
You must hang out in very progressive or cinematic circles. I have lots of friends who are straight and want to see it.
there have been a couple fantastic movies recently. so it depends on what you watch. jarhead was fantastic. goodnight and good luck was also real good.
It's more of an indie film anyways -- not exactly a hollywood megamovie-- so I'm not sure you can slag hollywood for this one. They can't make $100M batman and star wars sequels every day! I don't think they'll be too bummed it doesn't appeal to everyone. Good movies often don't.
We're fighting a war in Iraq and we just found out that our own government is spying on citizens without a warrant. Somehow, a movie about gay cowboys, a movie which no one is forced to see, doesn't appear to be a problem AT ALL.
