Depends on which part of the city you lived in. Did you ever go to the other side of the 35 especially in the middle of the night.
This is definitely in domestic terrorism territory now. I still can't believe this isn't a bigger story
It was on the front page of abcnews. I think it'll pick up steam now that it's serial in nature. Obviously if this was NY or LA you'd get non-stop coverage.
It just seems like in this day and age there really should be enough cameras out there to where someone shouldn't be able to get away with this.
I have for a long time endorsed more public security cams to help reduce crime. The private community that I live in has installed cameras at all locations leading in and out of the community. The cameras have been used numerous times to help identify law breakers, including the apprehension of a murder suspect. I have no problems with a camera on every street corner.
Watching that press conference, the chief clarified that the device was set up along a fence with the tripwire going across the yard and sidewalk. It was designed for any pedestrian to trigger.
Hopefully there will be some from this one .that's a nice neighborhood that only has two ways in and out. Hopefully someone got something usable.
APD has asked anyone (business and personal) who has a security camera anywhere near those areas to turn over their footage, no matter how innocuous it may seem. This tripwire stuff is a game-changer, now he's (I'm assuming it's the same person/people) targeting at random, unless the earlier targets were just given packages at random. Everything he's used, from what I've heard, can be bought at any hardware store, Anarchist Cookbook-style.
I am just waiting until a former SEAL or CIA operative snaps. With the knowledge they have, the type of damage they could do before being caught is staggering. Get a small group of like minded group? It could be staggering.
I saw that book/movie as a kid. You can't push 'em too far. But you're absolutely right, I just don't/can't live my life worrying about that stuff. BTW: what's a synonym for "staggering"?
There's no reason not to use something like this, they know the area it's being done, film it till the next one happens, rewind and catch. http://www.radiolab.org/story/eye-sky/
Plenty of reasons why they could be doing it but this person clearly has bomb expertise that's likely the result of a military or law enforcement background.
