Fred and Jalen take far too many shots! I'm still trying to find something Jalen's good at, compared to anyone else.
Being benched in the fourth quarter, is the only thing I think he's better at than anyone else on the roster.
Not wrong. Basketball-Reference actually tallies the points gained or lost by each player's field goals, relative to an average NBA player. Fred (-35pts) and Jalen (-62pts) are the worst on the team. Jabari at +20 is the best.
Guys, I think FVV's shooting would improve some if he played fewer mins, but that ain't happening soon.
Those two need to just stop taking so many shots! Fred needs to feed the better shooters more, and Jalen, well, he can't get many assists without turnovers. We need a better SG than Jalen in our starting lineup. That's obvious. Feed Jabari! Feed Jabari!
Feed Jabari but he's not open and he also doesn't post up. Jabari needs to get the trust of his teammates and prove that he can drive to the basket consistently.
Fred is nowhere near worth what he's paid but he's still a positive player on the court due to his defense and his playmaking.... but it would be really nice if he was shooting the ball better.
Disagree. He really is better at assists and ball handling. He doesn't turn over the ball much, and is a great leader. Leadership, passing, and ball handling are crucial.
If you didn't know by now that Jalen is good at teasing with flashes of greatness with the crash n burn follow up When Jalen is on the team is real good on most nights, but Green is really good at being inconsistent under this better coach regime so far He has the easiest job, just hit shots(especially wide open) and play passable defense
Last year Jalen got 2,602 minutes and took 1,359 shots. The year before that he had 2,138 minutes and took 954 shots. He has 824 minutes this year and has already taken 384 shots. That's a lot of minutes and shots to fine tune his shooting and perfect his accuracy, yet he's gotten worse every year. I'd love to see a Jalen highlight reel . . . . Of him getting splattered on his drives to the basket. There's about 4 per game to choose from so there should be some really tasty vids to feast your eyes on.
It's not that simple. You are in the NBA, your backcourt is your shot creators, they need to be some type of scoring threat to free up other options on the court. If FVV takes fewer shots, the defense will just clog up Sengun and Jabari. The reason why Jalen Green still takes so many shots is because a lot of shots still need to come from the perimeter, especially when Sengun gets heavily bodied and fronted or if the lane is clogged. Part of the reason why our offense stalls a lot of times is because FVV and Jalen can't score efficiently from their positions. I love FVV and Brooks, but both players were very inefficient shooters last year. We desperately need a shooting guard that can consistently create at a higher efficiency to balance our scoring. It's kinda pathetic that we have gone so predictable on offense down the stretch, it's literally live and die by Sengun
We are one "what we expected Jalen to be" Shooting Guard away from being a legit threat on both sides of the court.
The fact you criticize FVV really makes these metrics irrelevant. Metrics give idiot fans leeway to jump to lazy conclusions without watching games
