I don't really know what to call them, but there are new ads that pop up from the bottom of the page, and are persistent as you scroll down. i find them highly annoying. if i click to close them, they're quickly replaced by another. i'm sure this has been discussed before, but i wonder if you've considered an ad free version of the site, for a fee of course. I subscribe to amazingribs.com, there's an ad supported version, and for ~$30/year you can lose the ads. money well spent IMO. -b
There is an ad free version of the site available: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php?threads/thank-you-for-supporting-clutchfans.287935/
Came here to say the same thing. I was using ad block to custom block certain elements on this site like popups, pop-outs, etc, but recently Clutchfans started doing an annoying script pop-up asking to completely disable ad-blocking, which I did out of reluctance. Now, all see is "floating" banner ads at the bottom that are truly intrusive and cumbersome. I don't mind supporting this site with ads, but to ask the user to blanket whitelist the site on ad block and then hit them with massive ads that get in the way of reading a text-based forum, is to me a pretty bad design choice. Again, I've always allowed "static" ads on this site through my ad blocker because I know they pay for the cost of running things, but this kind of intrusion is really annoying and is making me rethink my choice. Please consider an alternative that does not get in the way of reading a text-heavy site. Thanks!
