    The answer is yes. LTO-3 holds 400gb uncompressed and you can get libraries that hold thousands of tapes with over a hundred drives running simultaneously. The trend now is to do disk to disk to tape backups for faster recovery times.

    Considering LTO-3 tapes cost about $100 bucks a pop and a single drive runs around 3-5K, I can see why some smb's would be interested in backing up to blue-ray.
