They would not give me a gift card but I can mail it back so it works out either way.

    1080p, but 60hz.

Not everybody cares about a perfect TV. I have a Polaroid 720p 60hz, and I don't have one complaint about it. Would I rather have a Samsung 1080p 360hz for $200? Yes, but that isn't what they are selling.

    TV snobs are annoying.

Totally agree. At 32" or lower will you really notice a difference if its 720 vs 1080 ... 60 vs 120 Hz? Definetely not noticeable enough to justify paying a lot more money. Now if I am buying a big TV then yes, I would probably want one with good specs.

My Best Buy has 4 college aged friends and a family of four in line. Based on talking to them that means 5 $200 TVs gone.

Nobody was in BB's line this early last year at either of my local stores. Until a late addition of a cheap laptop last year, BB didn't have the best deals. This year they are the best store like they used to be. Not a good sign Pun. I'd check your store tomorrow morning to see if you need to be there earlier.

I don't consider myself a tv snob. I'm looking to purchase a 55" this holiday season. I've done plenty of research and if im going to invest in a tv, I might as well do it 'right'.

Sears has Samsung UN55D6000 TV for $1099.99 with Free in store pick up or $69.99 for delivery.

You can use 10% coupon found in USPS movers packet. Also, go through Discover CC account to get another 15% Cash Back.

    Final Price: $1099.99 - 10% Coupon (movers packet) - 15% Discover Cash Back = $841.6

This is cheaper than Black Friday price at Best Buy!

That's a great deal. I just put that tv up today and it looks great. You do have to get the additional proprietary Linkstick for an additional $50 if you want to use the smart feature (other usb adaptors don't work). I ended up cancelling the us appliance on that tv and got it at BB because I was too impatient and took advantage of their kinect $100 bb cash back and the no interest for 36 months. $30 a month...it's going to disappear somewhere might as well go for entertainment.

I bought a 42" LED 1080p 120Hz TV this last Saturday for $479. It was a Westinghouse but I've never had a problem with the brand before. I'm absolutely happy with it and needless to say I don't have to go out with the hectic black Friday shoppers.

I have an older model Westinghouse 42" LCD 1080p 60Hz TV - never had any problems with it either.

Me too, I've had mine since around 2006/07. 42" Westinghouse, 60hz LCD.

    And I still LOVE it.

My dad bought one, and it quit working shortly after he got it. They sent it back and it was repaired, and quit working again. After that they sent a replacement, and the replacement has worked fine in the few years they have had it.

Does any tv brand really consistently break down? It seems like all brands are subject to having a bad one here or there, but usually work well overall. I guess it really just comes down to the difference in viewing quality and options?
