I am too young to watch this man play. Was he that good? I mean his career stats didn't seem right for a supposed 1 of the 50 greatest players of all-time. I know that he's plagued by injuries thoughout his career but look at his MVP season numbers, it's great but far from dominant especially considering that the score was much higher than it's right now. He would have been one of the best centers ever (behind Russell and Chamberlain) had it not been for injuries. That MVP season was the only season of his career that he was healthy. He had the total package, defense, rebounding, very good low post scorer and probably the best passing big man I have ever seen. Bill Walton was so much more than any stat could ever tell you. He was a leader, a sparkplug to an offense (with his rebounding and quick outlet passes) his tenacious defense, his pick to free teamates for the open shot, all little things that don't show up in boxscores but do show up in the Wins and losses.
