"Don't you think you've gotten more conservative?"

"No, I haven't. The left has gotten goofier."

I don't know how he can say that when his political arc the last 20 years has been Dennis Kucinich > Barack Obama (2007 edition) > Bernie Sanders > Amy Klobuchar.

One of those things is not like the other... One of those things, it doesn't beeeee-long.

I feel what happens is that a few goofy liberals are the ones that conservatives magnify and hold up as the example of the mainstream when in reality that's not the case at all.

Most mainstream liberals are closer to the @Major or @rocketsjudoka than the @glynch or even @SamFisher

Yes nearly all gov't spending has waste - both Republican and Democratic initiatives but that's not the real issue. The real issue is we haven't found a better way to make things work. The whole let the private industry solve all our problems doesn't work either. And seeking a balance between the too shouldn't be labeled as extreme or crazy by either side.

    Nah
I think people on the d&d aren’t here for real issues but for self affirmation
It’s like if I eat vegan one day am I a vegan ?
What if I ate roasted chicken from the timeberwolves?
    Am I still a vegan ?

    @AroundTheWorld

    I’ve chosen a side
It’s whatever I choose on any given moment

thinking there are true sides is the joke
It’s not like swimming with a pool of water vs a pool without it

Bill Maher: I'm still a Democrat because they can be saved, the Republicans cannot.

    Overall, solid podcast...

This. "Goofier" is actually a rather positive way to express it.

I love you @tinman but Russell Brand is a clueless dumb ass.... me thinks he might still be shooting up smack.

I did get to play around with Katy Perry's chest so I guess he has that going for him.

Bill Maher’s show is just The View with profanity. He often castigates the audience for not laughing at jokes, believing they’re too uptight and pc (or “woke”), but most of the time it’s just a stale, unfunny joke that one of the other talk show hosts already made in their nightly monologues. Political humor has a short shelf life. The only guys that did it right were the Washington Monugents. RIP.

This guy's podcast is pretty good. He mixes good jokes with decent information that he credits their source.

I like a lot of Bill Maher's stuff but don't agree with him all the time and from what I've seen from Maher he doesn't expect everyone to agree with him. Including his audience. He certainly skewers the Left but he skewers the Right quite a bit and he's a self-declared Liberal.

Maher is in the end very left wing.

People don't like him on the left because he can be very harsh towards those left of him.

I think the right does a good job of taking something a left winger says about the left and making it their whole thing when really...Bill is even harsher on the right. Quite regularly too. It's not a tim pool thing where he claims to be a centrist and puts out video after video about the left while having no criticism ever of the right...Bill regularly mocks the right.

In this podcast...a clip that won't be shown...is where Bill basically says the only reason he gets on the left at all is because he thinks it can get better while he has absolutely 0 hope for conservatives today. Interesting to me that won't be clipped on JRE's youtube channel and no one will take that from the interview.

It reminds me we have different standards for democrats and republicans. Democrats have to live up to a standard of being a decent human beings while republicans can be as abhorrent as possible and still be supported. so the left 'being goofy' is more of an issue when the other side might have tried to overturn an entire election....

They'll take "Left is goofy!" and ignore that Bill Maher literally thinks the right wing will end democracy itself in America. Tupac of the media indeed.
