Kind of reminds me of when the Astros lost 100 games 3 years in a row and then fired their manager and got some new young stars to build a team around and then............
There's starting to be a glimmer of hope with the Rockets. Just not exactly excited about a Rockets season just yet.
Agreed. I'm at that point where I'm getting a little excited about them, but I'm not going out of my way to watch 5-7 games like I would with the Astros a year in person. Although I'll catch them on Space City Orbital Satellite Network though from home.
I've actually been down on the NBA for years now. It's unwatchable. Too many 3-pointers. Every offense looks exactly the same. Pass the ball around the key until you find the open man to jack up a 3. Long rebound. Repeat. I have, however, decided to give it another chance this season*. Including the Rockets. Mainly because Silas is gone and we finally have a coach who can whip these young guys into a team that actually plays defense. *I say this every year
This is about where I arrived. College players on the aggregate are less talented/athletic, but teams tend to run an actual offense, you sometimes still see post-play, etc. In short: college looks like actual basketball compared to NBA.
Five titles is a stretch. One Superbowl might balance 3 WS titles. NRG is half-full when the Texans are losing.
Haha, fair enough. Fair enough. I hope they do a lot better w/ some additional talent and a GOOD coach for a change.
The NBA game has changed. It’s just not as cool anymore. I went hard from 1981 to about 2009. Casual NBA watcher since. The Rockets have been unwatchable for a while now.
Brutal week, but I still have faith the Texans and Rockets are going to be better than last year. Not a very high bar, but still....
