Auto Insurance

To make a long story short, Geico was going to charge us $1498.00 every 6 months after we bought a car last month. Amica's online quote was $1870.00 for the entire year.

After giving Geico a chance to match, I closed with Amica for $1712.00 for the entire year. That's a little more than 1/2 what Geico would have charged. Basically we added a very expensive car and got a rate reduction.

 

Man, maybe my coverage sucks. My insurance costs seem dirt cheap compared to some of yours. Hmm...

 

For just collision, they are charging me $430 for 6 months. My policy before discounts is 1360 for 6 months. It's a damn travesty as I only use my car for groceries.

Minimum coverage would only cost me $434 per 6 months. It's a shame because my car is worth about $8000.
