OUCH! Everette in PAIN. He got hit in the hand! He smashed his thumb. Nevermind....he was faking, it hit the bat!
If they hit Biggio they should stop the game and give him the Cal Ripken treatment while he lays on the ground writhing in agony. Of note, Rockies pitchers had gone 59 innings without a HR given up at coors, until bam.
Wow, that is horrible. Wandy should easily have had the out. bad Bad BAD. EDIT: I sound like a boo bird. Used the word horrible in my last 2 posts. This has been a great game so far. Don't let it slip away Wandy.
Oh man this game is getting UGLY. Ensberg drops one of the HIGHEST popups I have ever seen. 11-5, 2 more runs score. HORRIBLE. 6 posts in a row, I am a post w****.
If the Astros win tonight, they will be in 3rd place in the division... this "run" has finally caused them to start leap-frogging teams. EDIT: This situation actually scares me (and I haven't felt "nervous" in a Stros game since the playoffs). Garner is trying everything to get thru this 8th inning... brought in Qualls (got one out, left two men on base), brought in Franco (got another out, but allowed one to score on a hit), and now he's bringing in Springer with two men on, 2 outs, and Preston Wilson (the tying run... who's already hit a HR tonight) at the plate. EDIT AGAIN: I HATE BEING RIGHT!!!
Oh you gott abe ****ing kidding me. THe one time a year I pay attention tot hat damn MLB Gameday and wtf does Springer do. God ****ing damnit.
Oh yea... I'll second that. And I was just ready to say how great his managing "moves" have paid off when Franco almost got that DP to get out of the inning. After Franco gives up the hit... you bring in Wheeler, not Springer... every single time (if you're that concerned about Lidge pitching too many 8th innings... I can understand that... but you have to bring in Wheeler). On top of it all, Wheeler is still warming up in the bullpen as Springer pulls yet another choke job.... if he was good enough to warm up, he should have been brought in in the first place.
Seriously... why the hell do we even have a "fly-ball" pitcher on this staff? You can't have that at MMP, and you obviously can't pitch that guy in half the ballparks in the NL now (especially not Colorado). This game wouldn't hurt as much if it was anybody but Clemens pitching tonight... frankly, this hurts more than those 1-0 losses at the beginning of the year because it seemed preventable by not bringing in inept pitchers like Springer.
