I think the Rockies will win tonight since Wandy is pitching. I don't see him lasting 4innings. But the next two games the Astros will explode against Jennings and Walk-Off Kim.

Big game for Wandy tonight. He's been real erratic lately....for 3-4 innings he can be dead on, and then he runs into some trouble and uh-oh (otherwise known as a "Redding"). Hopefully the early 2-run lead can relax him.

I don't like how Chavez catches the ball... he stabs at it almost every time (even if its right to him), and thus its very hard for the umps to call the strikes on the corner. (and don't even get me started on his "hitting"... at least Ausmus can execute the occasional squeeze, or hit the occasional double).

I like Wandy's stuff... but he needs to mix it up more. More changeups, curves (yes, even in Colorado), and off-speed stuff in general. I'm seeing nothing but fastball-fastball-fastball. Whether that's him, or Chavez, or even Hickey... somebody needs to let him know what works up here (he is getting progesively better, so maybe its a learning process).

Also, has anybody seen Zeke's numbers at AAA? He threw 8 innings of 1ER ball yesterday (with 8 K's). He's got a sub 3 ERA. Is it possible that he may have made the necessary adjustments he needs to succeed up here (or is he goin to be strictly a AAAA pitcher who must go to the bullpen).

Whatever the case... I do like the makeup of this team now... the young guys are developing identities (except for Burke... who will bust out one of these days).

Hey... I'll take it! (his first regular season HR in over 2 years!)

Because seriously... if this man doesn't hit, there's no other reason to play him twice a week.
