Astros re-sign Ausmus

    Didn't he hit two HR in the first part of the 2002 season and after that the avg just dropped.

    Maybe Pettite needed assurance Astros were going to have a legit catcher instead of a new one. So the Astros go out and sign Ausmus

    They bid against themselves and paid BA as if this were 2001.

    Come on, $3.2 for Viz and Az, both good guys and all, but $3.2 mil and no money to sign or keep studs like Wags et al.

    Agreed. I can't remember a rookie catcher ever taking a team deep in the post season.

    Good Point. But they need to start letting some other prospects catch more too. We already know what Brad brings to the table. We need to be thinking of the not so far off future. Now.
