Bring on the Bucs! Pitching Matchups: 4-27 -- Tim Redding (0-3, 10.22) vs. Josh Fogg (0-3, 17.00) Wow Redding gets a start against someone with worse numbers than he has. 6:05 on KNWS 4-28 -- Roy Oswalt (2-0,2.15) vs. Kip Wells (2-2, 3.00) 6:05 on FSSW 4-29 -- Andy Pettitte (0-1, 10.13) vs. Kris Benson (2-1, 3.91) 11:35 on FSSW
WWW.. Pettitte should be back for his start? Woo hoo, first reply. I hope Redding goes out and pitches a great game with his B+/A- stuff.
Astros report: Inside pitch April 26, 2004 LHP Andy Pettitte, who is on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left elbow and hasn't pitched since starting the second game of the season, took his biggest step toward coming off the DL with a strong rehab outing Friday morning. He also had a five-minute catch session Saturday and a bullpen session Sunday (April 25) for the fourth time since going on the DL retroactive to April 7. "I feel good," Pettitte said. "It was good." Pettitte allowed only three hits and one run with seven strikeouts over five innings Friday in an extended spring training game at Osceola County Stadium in Kissimmee, Fla. Bullpen assistant Javier Bracamonte traveled from Houston with Pettitte to catch the outing. "Results were encouraging," general manager Gerry Hunsicker said. "Sounded like he got through his game fine." Pettitte threw 51 of his 68 pitches for strikes. Barring any further complications, he should be ready to come off the disabled list and start Thursday (April 29) against the Pirates at PNC Park. "I don't see any issues at this point that would prevent us from staying on our schedule," Hunsicker said. Pettitte had initially hoped to come off the DL and start Friday (April 23) against the Rockies, but the Astros changed those plans to keep him from pitching in the chilly conditions at Coors Field. Combined with the 93 pitches he threw in an intensive bullpen session April 20, the rehab assignment should serve as the final sign that Pettitte is ready to rejoin the rotation. After spending his first nine seasons with the Yankees in the American League batting only during interleague and World Series games in National League parks Pettitte suffered the injury on a checked swing in his first NL start April 6. Pettitte had an MRI on his elbow April 8, revealing inflammation in his left elbow and a strain in his flexor tendon. On the road with the team in Milwaukee, he returned back to Houston on April 10 and had a cortisone shot on the flexor tendon April 11. Pettitte, who was also on the DL in 1999 from April 4-17 and in 2002 from April 21-June 14 with left elbow problems, threw three bullpen sessions leading up to his rehab start. I think that the good guys are a little pissed at what happened with the Cards and Rockies. They will want to beat up on the Bucs. I too am waiting for a little consistency with our team. Go Astros!!
i don't know what to say about redding tonight. he hasn't been good...but fogg has been even worse! i'll say WWW
We've been pretty consistent on the road this year. At home, that's a different story. Actually, we've been consistently BAD at home this year. Since we're on the road, I say WWW.,
WWL i predicted a sweep against the Cardinals and Houston got swept so i'm only going with 2/3. Their on the road though, so anything is possible
4-27 -- Tim Redding (0-3, 10.22) vs. Josh Fogg (0-3, 17.00) 10.22 + 17.00 doesn't combine for an ERA greater than 27?
Adding them does but figuring them as an ERa doesn't Combined they have given up 31 ER in 21 and 1/3 innings In ERA calculations (ER*9) / IP = 13.08 or there abouts
Isn't it ER/(IP/9)? Innings pitched divided by 9 gives you the number of 9 inning games pitched. Divide earned runs by this numer for earned runs per nine innings. 21.3/9=2.36666 31/2.36666=13.08 Crap, what did I do wrong the first time?
If Redding can't stand up to the opposition today.....I don't think he should be a member in our starting Rotation. Hopefully he will get his first win and not 4th loss.
