What the hell is Garner thinking, he put a all righty lineup versus lefthander Bruce Chen when lefties hit .387 and have a .472 OBP versus him. Righties only hit .212 and have a .245 OBP. Put another L in the standings.

Everette has been up to bat with 2 on and 1 out THREE times this game. And he was just up to bat with the bases LOADED with 1 out and he almost hit into the DP!

Ugh...only 1 run scored when we had the bases loaded and no outs.

Phil the worst manager in baseball, he never pinch hits for Assmus. No wonder why no one Detriot likes him. Fire him and hire Tony Pena.

Because he's better than anyone in our bullpen.

No he is not, he was obviously he nothing and Phil's dumbass kept him in rather than get fresh arm like Wheeler or Lidge. Damn I hate Phil, he needs to go.

He had a 100+ pitch count. It was time to go to the pin when people started getting on base.

A baseball manager has 2 jobs, fill in the line-up card and pitching changes, and Garner can't do either. I still don't get why he started will a all righty line-up when Bruce Chen throws a nasty change up. He can't throw that change up to lefties because they see it very well. Lefties take away his best pitch and Garner keeps scrubs like Burke and Brunlett over Lamb and Palmerio.

I don't normally bash the managing too much because, by and large, I believe that players' performances determine the success of a team, but tonight's game was particularly poorly managed. First of all, Garner should have pinch-hit for Ausmus with Lamb in the 8th when we had the tying runs on base. Secondly, Pettitte never should have been forced to face Sosa in the bottom of the 8th. After he walked Tejada was when the bullpen should have been used. Sosa strikes out on heat up-and-in and down-and-away, but not when the heat barely reaches 90, which is what Pettitte is throwing these days, not to mention that Andy had already topped 100 pitches at that point.

Milo and Ash were all over Garner on the radio broadcast, btw.

By who? The broadcast team repeatedly says that he has all the tools to be a great defensive centerfielder, but that he clearly hasn't put it all together yet. I haven't heard anybody call him great as of yet.

Geez dude, pick a side. You start a new post bashing Astros development by not promoting players, and then bash Garner when he plays those "scrubs" instead of tapped out veterans.

Lamb is hitting .200 against lefties. Palmeiro is hitting .167.

Bruntlett is hitting .273 against lefties (and is 0-10 against righties). Burke is hitting .190 against lefties.

Re: Pettitte...ultimately, it didn't matter. We couldn't score. Wouldn't have mattered if Pettitte left at 1-0, 3-0, or 6-0. Considering Pettitte is an established veteran pitcher who has pitched well all year, has had little to no run support, and was pitching extremely well before falling apart (I blame Lee Mazzilli "icing" him), you let the guy determine his own fate.

The Orioles own the Astros. The Astros should be decked out in black leather being led around by Orioles on a leash connected to spiked collars. Ugh!
