    Astros @ Mets

All game talk goes in here. Please do not give play by play. If you need play by play go to CBS, ESPN, or Yahoo.

    Pitching Proabables:

    6-13 Brandon Backe (6-3, 4.31) vs. Hayden Penn (0-0, 3.52) 6:05 on FSSW

    6-14 Andy Pettitte (3-6, 3.43) vs. Bruce Chen (5-4, 3.61) 6:05 on FSSW

    6-15 Wandy Rodriguez (2-2, 8.41) vs. Rodrigo Lopez (5-2, 4.52) 6:05 on FSSW/ESPN

Note: To help with the Karma, I cut my Met Thread starting post and made this thread with it. We'll see how it works.

    Mon Brandon Backe- Hayden Penn

    Tue Andy Pettitte- Bruce Chen

    Wed Wandy Rodriguez- Rodrigo Lopez

    Scouting Report

Hayden Penn is the young stud of this Orioles staff. Great curveball. Looked outstanding against the Redsox, striking out Manny Ramirez with 3 curveballs. He left that game with the lead only to have the bullpen blow the game. Still looking for his first Major League Win.

Bruce Chen...Yes THE SAME Bruce Chen that stunk up the joint in Houston in 2003. Who could forget that 6.00 era in 12 games.

Rodrigo Lopez, junkball pitcher. Gets hitters to swing at his pitches.

    Forecast

Astros win first 2 games of this series. Wandy struggles in 3rd game of series as Lopez has Astro hitters in a funk.

I think we should have stuck with the Mets Sticky for a while ... It was really working for us :)

Superstitions aside ... I optimistically see the Stros taking 2 out of 3 in Baltimore.

    Astros win the series.

They are clicking now as a team, they are once again fun to watch. We are actually carring a 5 game win streak!

Beware of Chen. He sucked here but now, he's good. Very good.

I was thinking the same thing. Astros sweep a series for the 1st time this year; the one series where there isn't a thread started.

Didn't we sweep Cincinatti earlier in the year?

Key game is the Backe game...if he can win, I'll take my chances with Pettitte going against his old foes and we can take 2 of 3.

You are correct! April 8-10 homestand the Astros swept the Reds. Seems like ages ago.

Jim Palmer literally just predicted that pitch and home run. I don't even like the guy, but that was precog type stuff.

Backe is sucking. He gave up back-to-back homeruns.

Yeah, I am watching the Orioles feed of the game as well. I think Palmer does a very good job. He was a helluva pitcher, so he does have a lot of knowledge about pitchers and their tendencies.

I vote we bring back the Mets thread with all the posts in it... whatever mojo we have now isn't cutting it. :(

That said, nice play by Willy to save another run (or two). We've been hitting Penn pretty hard, so it's not impossible... just have to start chipping away.
