Aoki collected his 2,000 professional career hit with a single to left field against Angelslefthander Jose Alvarez in the sixth inning of Sunday’s game.

Aoki has 716 hits in the major league and 1,284 hits in Japan. The feat gives Aoki an automatic ticket into the Meikyukai. A defacto hall-of-fame in Japan that is also known as the Golden Players Club. Players are automatically inducted if they reach career totals of 2,000 hits, 200 wins, or 250 saves in professional leagues.

Aoki was presented with his jacket for the Golden Players Club after the game and the Astros gave him a bottle of Chimney Rock Cabernet Sauvignon, that was also signed by the Astros players and coaches.

We shoulda won. A pitching lineup of paulino, feliz, diaz is terrble. Also no correa or McCann.

We will be good as long as we acquire another starter and keuchel becomes healthy

Good for him, that's a big deal in Japan.

Hopefully now that he has gotten this off his back he can get out of this slump he's been in for the last month.
