Also, why designate Minaya when you have a crappy Peacock that could easily done without. At least Minaya is a few years younger.

 

I won't pretend to know much about Juan Minaya because I don't.

But why would you DFA a 25 year old who most list as one of your top 30 prospects, to keep guys like Fields and Peacock?

I can't recall ever really paying attention to Minaya before today, but I am 100% confident that he will now turn into a star.

 

They now have 10 days to trade him. He should be more of a tradable asset than Fields or Peacock.

 

That makes a lot more sense, wasn't thinking about that possibility.

Would guess they already have some talks going that makes them think they will be able to move him for a non-40 man prospect

 

But who's going to give up something for him when he'll just be a free agent in 10 days?

Yes, it's always bugged me as well. He strikes me as lazy minded and full of it. He's a freaking rookie, not Kirk Gibson.

 

Have you seen Giles? I think only the button right above where it is tucked in is actually buttoned. Thats probably why he blows saves.

 

Minaya hasn't had a good year and was a fringy 40 man add to begin with, but I would be surprised if he wasn't claimed. Doubt he has much if any trade value. Maybe some cash or a very low value PTBNL.

If he threw in some walks and extra base hits.

Definitely a good first game though. No strike outs, and all quality contact.
