Castor has been busy actually working for a living and he hasn't had time to look at anything much less post about a team that probably won't make the playoffs 8/26 1:20 Backe (1-1 4.03) v Prior (3-3 4.73) 8/27 2:20 Oswalt (14-9 3.42) v Wood (7-5 2.97) 8/28 3:05 Clemens (13-4 2.92) v Zambrano (12-7 2.88) 8/29 1:20 Hernandez (0-1 5.82) v Clement (9-11 3.31) Clearly this is the biggest series of the season. This is it with the Cubs for 2004. A series victory puts us 3 games back, a sweep puts us 2 games out (behind the Cubs that is). Anything short of that might be too difficult to overcome with only 30 or so games left. WWWL
Actually a 3-1 series victory only makes up 2 games in the standings so the Astros would still be 4 behind the Cubs.
WWWW!!!! holy crap...i don't know if it's gonna happen...but i know i would be bouncing off the walls if it did!
2nd and 3rd...nobody out...couldn't score Mark Prior is really struggling now and we could only get 2 runs off him. This sucks.
I gave up weeks ago....now I just look at the scores. No heart, no hustle, no chance. They are old and tired position players, and need a youth injection. DD
Well, I am going to be rootin for the Astros tomorow. I haven't seen a game on Tv in a long time. I have seen more games in person than I have on TV in the last 2 weeks. I will be driving home early to catch the game. I hope we can pull this one off, and then the next 2 also. It was terrible today. I seemed like it was going to be a great game and Backe would have a great day of pitching. And then when I pulled into Galveston the sh** hit the fan.
Carlos Beltran has now tied the record for most consecutive games with a HR by an Astro. He also has 19 in his brief stint with Houston... TYING him for the club lead. Amazing...
BOOM goes Bagwell .... I love that they're getting on Kerry Wood early. Seems like we always have problems with him.
