I'm amazed that Qualls has gotten 8 votes. The guy has become one of the best young setup guys in the league and you think he's a disappointment?
I'm going to throw in a James Mouton while we're bringing up old players. I don't really know why though.
Luke Scott after a great spring training. I guess they really were throwing a lot of turds in spring training.
So far it is burke. Burke has been our highest touted prospect the last few years and he hasn't done anything. Lane has been streaky, but when he is impressive during his hot streaks.
ALL I know is that BURKE, LANE, EVERETT has GOT TO GOOOO if we're ever going to be back a PLAYOFF CONTENDER!
I was kinda pissed when Willie Ansley seemed to disappear of the face of the earth. He had that cool topps card and everything.
I kind of hate to call it a disapointment already, I am disapointed....but haven' completely given up on him yet...although him batting this badly isn't helping. Burke is a CAREER .168 batter. This season he is hitting .185 ...that is apalling.
It has to be Burke. I know that he's always adjusted slow to each level of the minors, and he's playing an uncomfortable position with erratic at-bats. But still. And it's not just the poor numbers or the poor batting - he's the highest Astros draft pick in years. At Tennessee he broke Todd Helton's hitting records - at shortstop! Then he gets into the minors - and his arm isn't up to playing short - and now he left his bat in the minors. Lane's pretty dissapointing too - people really didn't know what to expect, but he'd shown glimpses of having a good bat in the past - but yikes. On the other hand - if you'd told people in March that Jason Lane would be giving you about the same offense as Carlos Beltran only with more stolen bases - they'd look at you as if you were nuts. All the others on the list - I don't think they really apply. Either they were pushed up early, or they were never really big prospects to begin with, and shouldn't count.
