Astros alternate jersey question

I think thats used for Sunday day games??

or maybe its weekday day games

 

I think they did... they used to be used for Saturday home games, like today was, but I haven't seen them the entire year.

They also dropped the all black jerseys as well... too hot.

The lettering on the white ones today are just like the red ones which are just like the white with pinstripes....

 

I like the black jerseys they use to wear in 2000 better than the red ones they wear now.

 

I like 'em all.

And I think I'm in the minority here, but I really like the pinstripes.

Some people call it fake tradition.

I just call them nice-looking jerseys.

 

I LOVE the red ones. Baseball was not meant to be played with one team wearing a black jersey... its just not right.

The White Sox are tho only other team that I can think of that does it... and that's only because black is a primary color in their scheme.

That red is just a nice sharp tone... its not the bright red like the Cardinals or Rockets use, and its not the dark red that the Red Sox use.

Its just a nice lookin color.

 

I love the (brick colored) red jerseys they stand out & look nice. They wear those for Sunday home games and sometimes in weekday afternoon games. They usually wear gray or white pants w/ them. In any case the red jersey and black cap look sharp.

I don't like today's jersey all white w/ red hat. It looks cheap and plain. But they won so whatever works.

 

I like the black uniform, and the black hat, i dont like the red hat and uniform

I'm probably alone on this but I kinda miss the mid-90's Astros uniforms. Too many teams are going to red these days and those uniforms were really unique. I like old school looks but I just don't think the current Astros uniforms achieve it too well. Plus I don't like that script. Maybe if the uniforms resembled the Colt 45's more...

I really wish they'd wear black caps with those white unis.. it'd look slick.. the black batting helmets look REAL good with that.

 

I like the red uniforms and the normal home/road uniforms. For some reason, the white uniforms with the red hat looks weird to me. I'm not sure why, but I think they look bad and am not a fan of them.

 

I propose either a new uniform/logo design or alternate. The numbering, colors, and star logo can stay, but the script should subside, at least for just one uniform.

I can see it in my mind and I can probably create something on PS, but I'm thinking of an alternate hat design with a filled in (or left as is) star logo. It would be the same "brick" color but with one difference: an updated version of the 80s and early 90s cap. A nice, prominent H inside the star.

And the other uniform tweak would be for perhaps the road jerseys so say "HOUSTON" in bold, non-script writing, similar to the Yankees' "NEW YORK" road unis, but writing would be in a slightly serif font.

 

I think the Devil Rays have a black jersey.

I liked the late 90's uniforms myself.

 

hmmmmm yes. The old Rockets, Astros and Oilers unis are better than the ones we have now.

 

Those new Oilers jerseys are especially bad.

 

I love the red jerseys too.
