Who the flip needs a face mask? Them looters aren't a maskin unless they're a stealin.... I'm no thief!
California is continuing its gradual reopening-- counties can now move into phase 3, which allows for reopening of gyms, schools and others if a county fits certain criteria. Governor Newson's justification is that case #s are under control, testing and tracing capabilities are more ready, and it looks like the state has the medical capacity to treat patients. Went to get a haircut today: no one waiting inside the salon, temperature check with result and customer phone # recorded on a notebook, masks for everyone, and huge jars of 70% alcohol for cleaning between clients. My stylist told me that they were allowed to open since Monday, and did so, but closed the last 2 days to get everything in order for the health department guidelines. The difference about closing and opening is much more stark in terms of rhetoric on social media than it is about policy at this point. Dem states are just taking a more cautious approach.
Very true. San francisco is moving rapidly into re-opening, and we had about the strongest lock-down in the country, I believe. People still wearing masks, being careful, but a lot of businesses are open again, with more on the way.
Well the US is nearing 2 million cases now and people act like it's over. Today Texas had over 2,000 new cases. Yeah, it worries me.
The virus has turned out to be a total dud. Roughly half the deaths have been in nursing homes. I don't even know that the lockdown was shown to reduce the spread at all. FAR more people than we thought had this, meaning the death rate was tiny. Look at the stock market - almost back to all time highs. Time to reopen! Protect the elderly, and those who have compromised immune systems, otherwise FREE THE PEOPLE!
So spread the virus to unimaginal highs and force all elderly and people with weakened immune systems to stay inside another year? It's a scary choice to fear getting the virus or risk infection going to a doctor, hospital, or dentist for needed care. You sound like an echo of Trump, Paxton, Cruz, and Abbott with the "stock market first" mentality.
The daily death rate has been dropping like a rock in the US. It's a clear trend. Look at the European countries, who had this a couple months before we did. You've got a couple tough months, then it peters out. It's happening here, just the same. Don't fall for the media's scare tactics. "Unimaginable highs"....lmao.
Your track record on speaking about Covid speaks for itself. Do I need to remind you when you said that Covid was overblown and largely confined to China? Moral of the story: don’t listen to bigtexxx as he is wrong
The lockdown was a horrible, medieval decision based on fear that unnecessarily sank the economy. Remember it’s purpose? To ensure sufficient hospital capacity? Aside from maybe a few days in NYC, we didn’t even come close to exceeding it, and in fact hospitals had to lay people off. It may not have even stopped the spread of the virus. There could have been far better solutions.
