If what Jalen is doing now is not a fluke, I'm not trading either. Definitely not trading Sengun unless I'm getting a top 5 player back.
Thing about trading any one of the young core is that you risk harming long term chemistry issues. It just feels nicer if your entire main rotation guys are home grown dudes your team developed. It feels more special and usually this is the only way to build long term success. Id be hesitant to trade anyone because ideally I want these guys to grow together and develop chemistry
So would that make Luka a 6'8'' version of Harden including the fat body suit? Does that mean Luka will only reach WCF since him and Harden play basically the same style? Rasheeed Wallace and even before him Laimbeer could stretch it out to 3, and Wallace was just as skilled (better range shooter/low post) so its not nothing unique Sengun is doing outside of the fancy flashy dimes, which even Wilt was doing in the 60/70's What makes AS go is his ability to recognize his bread n butter is the low block, and he has the Dream to work with VIP style during offseason... Now that is a special/unique situation to be in All Sengun has to do is improve his FT pct and his points would increase 2-4ppg more, which if were betting man I would bet a bundle or two on him improving that
Great! We know he's a monster in the lowblock. That's great for him personally and his own numbers. What we are trying to build is a team and Alp being able to be versatile as a 3 level scorer will do just that. It allows Jabari to get some time in the paint to work and the wings/guards to slash to the hole while the D is stretched as far as possible. We all know Alpi is a star. What we're hoping is that his skill set will also help others on this team shine as well.
Most high picks go to trash teams... Was Darius Garland whining about having Bickerstaff and no Shaq? SGA did it like Kobe too, huh? As we know, Paul George didn't develop because he had multiple coaches his rookie year and Roy Hibbert / Danny Granger were awesome... what ever happened to Paul George?
Playing fast? Most teams have big men. It's not like Sengun is Yao lumbering up and down the court. Sengun is perfect for Poppovich offense that relies on motion and ball movement. They need better shooting around him and smarter players who know how to get open without the ball...
TF is spending more than Les. Les would operate under the cap a lot of years. The Rockets spend a higher % of the cap under TF, that's the main job of the owner. Then it's on personnel guys. They have resources.
Of course you would want a player to become this 3 level scorer but as of right now he is beast on block with some mid range with it, and if he improves his FT % that could be an extra 2-4 ppg increase which would be 23-25ppg with no 3pt shot that makes others afraid I Am not hoping his skill set will help others on this team, he has already proven that day one even while getting hosed by Silas early on, and has done it plenty of times prior to injury What Rockets games have you actually watched to hope for something that already has been showcased?
I don’t know if you’re following the conversation but we’re discussing players coming out of high school i.e. without college or pro experience. Players behind on fundamentals when compared to college prospects.
Sure, that has nothing to do with someone claiming kobe needed Shaq and a hall of fame coach. Didn't hurt, but a lot of guys developed with no star to help and bad coaching... Does anyone think Kobe wouldn't have been a star if he went to Charlotte?
Both will have to sacrifice for it to work. But if Green can continue this play against the 9 playoff teams left on their schedule the Rockets have some interesting discussions this off-season about the makeup of the team.
If JG starts off next season sucking the first 40 games, everyone will be jumping on board to trade him again. So that said, if we can get an elite player return, we should consider trading him while his value is at it's highest. I personally think this stretch of game is an outlier with a combination of playing bad teams, getting more touches with Sengun/Cam out and him realizing he needs to play better to pay for his kid(s).
It has to do with much easier things were for Kobe than Jalen in order to achieve a better relative ts%. We’re comparing these two because they both similarly didn’t have any fundamentals or college experience.
Is anyone whining about not having PJ or Shaq? No, it's a fact. Garland is a 24 y/o PG averaging 21-7 you are talking like he's an obvious superstar lmao. And PG is absolutely not a no.1 option on a championship team and never has been as proven by the fact he's advanced past the first round 5 out of the 12 times he's made the playoffs. For reference, Harden advanced past the first round 9 out of 13 season's and is still considered a playoff failure.
jalen green has a much higher chance of becoming the next murray than sengun ever has of becoming the next jokic
