Image the RocketsLegend as a teacher with a gun, all students who do not agree the gun control will get shot first.

    For real.

I mean the cops run up on 12-year-olds in a public park and blast them before they get out of their car...

a teacher to carry a concealed weapon, a hand gun, to shoot against a maniac shooting an AR w a bump stock !
that's just using the teacher as a sacrficial lamb

    considered the facts:

at the most recent AR shooting at Parkland, there was a well-trained security guard w hand gun, he couldn't stop the AR shooter.

at the first publicized AR shooting in Columbine, the well-trained security was in front of the school exchanging fire w the terrorist. he was no match for the maniac, who went into the building and shot the kids

Don't we have more cases of teachers having sex with students than school shootings?

You want give those people guns now? You want guns inside of a school full of kids that love to look for hidden ****? You really think that's a solution?

How about you take the money you'd spend on buying teachers guns and gun training and add more school counselors and more after school programs to help troubled kids?

trump idiocy continues... "like my banks protected". As if bank tellers and the new accounts officers arm up for the possibility of a customer with an AK-15.

And offering a bonus... dangle a few dollars out there... that makes it a great idea. How about raining teachers salaries and buy more books and learning materials if there is bonus money available.

The Count Down to a student charging a teacher with raping them at gunpoint would start the next day . . .

The NRA is funded by gun manufacturers. This idea is about getting a sweet government check for more gun orders.

Simply watching trump talk is a window into his insanity... he begins by saying schools are quite frankly no different than military bases, then compares them to banks, then rambles about arming teachers, then says arming teachers is less expensive than armed guards, and then, get this, it wouldn't look as bad having armed teachers than armed guards...

This is just one of those things to try and move the conversation away from guns are bad - which is obvious - to something else that is debate-able.

Maybe armed teachers is good. Maybe it isn't. Who knows.
To some extent... who cares. Try it, sure.

Still doesn't mean that's the "solution".

The conversation needs to continue to remain to be about MANY, MULTI-FACETED SOLUTIONS, including and probably starting with gun control. But also a bunch of other stuff.

This is just the GOP way of saying "well, we tried to arm you teachers, but you pushed back..."

I don't know how you can be a true Conservative, and believe that the government has any role whatsoever in telling school what they should or shouldn't do to protect themselves.

The whole purpose of Betsy Devos being in office is to convince the public it is okay to take away public education in favor of private schools. If you are a conservative Republican you cannot say that "We should have schools impose this or that". It goes against everything YOU stand for ideologically.

The correct answer should be that the kids and the parents have school choices, and if they pull up their bootstraps and work hard, they can afford that safe environment their child needs to get an education in whatever they want to be educated on. You can't be "Conservative" only when it suits you, and impose government oversight only when it suits you.

Funny thing about people who tend to go off into the weeds with arguments...
...they generally aren't the best gardeners to begin with...

The reason that America is f***ed up in the 1st place is due to the gun culture. Making gun culture even more prominent will only make America even more f***ed up.

Am I the only one who sees that as a clear manipulating tactic?
Propose something ridiculous so when after long debates and critisims nothing happens in the end, everyone is relieved and happy.

This clearly is what the NRA is aiming for imo.

I remember reading an article where NY police hit their target at a 17-23% rate under stress. And that anything at around 40% hit rate is considered very good for stressful situation.

There is no adequate training for stressful situation, but maybe so if you are trained for that on a regular basis - e.g. combat military
