Which, as I said, indicates the gap that exists. There are those on the other side who I am sure feel the exact same way...hence the gap. Fair points. The question then is: "Is there any evidence that allowing teachers to be armed would actually diminish school shootings?" Given all the valid concerns about doing so, there would need to be some strong evidence supporting it to even have the conversation, I think. Similar to the torturing certain prisoners. Outside of the moral objections...was it even effective? If not..end of discussion. Same here.
I have a moderate voting record. However the idea of arming teachers is stupid. We are talking about schools and not pawn shops or a bank. The fact that this is even an issue shows just how incredibly warped the USA is right now. I shouldn't have to worry about my kid being shot at school. I shouldn't have to wonder if my kids teacher has a gun in the classroom. Then again, we shouldn't have a President that is corrupt and incompetent. We shouldn't live in a country where college students shout down someone that wants to have a debate on gender pronouns and we shouldn't live in a country where health is insignificant and corporations have an ungodly amount of power in the political process.
