Are you okay with trading Parsons for a lottery pick?

Poll closed Jul 23, 2014.
  1. Yes. Parsons will demand a lot of next year anyways, and there is a hole at PG/PF.

  2. No. Parsons is too important for this team.

Parsons would net a pick in the lower top ten, Asik, somewhere outside the top ten.

The question should be reworded...do we wish to win NOW, or LATER??

Just think, a lottery pick in this draft might turn out to be as good as Chandler Parsons! Trade away Murrey.

I don't think we can do better than Parsons in the Lottery. Lin and Asik should only be traded if we can get a starter out of it, but that is unlikely. Both are quality bench. Think it would be hard to improve the team this way. Yet, young, tall, and athletic at either position is what we need.

we're trying to win now, those picks serve that cause.

lin might cost us a lotto pick to get rid of.

If we could flip Parsons and our pick for Marcus Smart then I would be pleased.

Also we'd be trading Parsons for a rookie that literally costs more than him next year lol.

Yes, but it depends on the context of the trade.

Hypothetically, if we get Melo and trade Parsons for Marcus Smart that would be great.

If we flat out trade Parsons for a pick and don't address the other holes like SF and PF int the off season, then it might be a lateral move (while we wait for a rookie who might or might not develop) or one that sets us back with Dwight wanting to 'win now'.

If we get a strong free agent or third star and then do it I could see it working out well.

The problem is each single of them doesn't deserve a lottery pick value interms of their contracts.

Do they do a lottery for the first 14 picks of the second round?

If so, we might have a shot at trading these guys for said pick - otherwise.....

LOLwut? First of all this is the deepest draft since LBJ's class, of course you do this trade every single time. Asik makes 8M by himself and would be a free agent next season, and next 1-2 years Parsons will command a salary from 7M-12M so to be honest this is a no-brainer, you can get the pick and either trade for a guy like Love, or keep the pick yourself and get someone else with the 9M capspace you just freed up.

More imnportanlty though, this trade won't happen unless you have a really desparate team, I just don't see anyone parting with a lottery pick for these two guys.

Btw Lin is negative trade value, if we can get someone to absorb his salary for conditional pick it would be a steal for us.

Lin is untradable and Parsons should be kept. If you want to trade, trade Howard, these days, you don't really need a "center" to win.
