wouldn't be surprised to see the return of the poison pill contract. win now. worry about bad contracts after we've accomplished what we've set out to do.
We should fire whoever decided to trade for him and giving up so many players and picks for cp3. Same genius would probably give supermax to cp3 and get us 10 points a game .
Morey magic would be some form of sign and trade. Get some premier shooters and more two way players for CP3. Although I honestly see this as secondary to getting rid of Anderson’s contract somehow. Last thing we want to do is turn a good situation bad by saddling us with an aged player in decline at a heavy multi year cost. Sage.
This was my concern when we traded for CP3... it was all with the expectation that we then grab who we can in FA and then he gets the super maxmax - owner pays luxury tax (maybe thats why Les left? lol) and you buy a 2-3 year window... knowing yer gonna be screwed on the back end of the deal... I believe it was referred to as "going all in" and something about 'high risk scenarios'... lol still seems like a stupid plan to me... a gamble - with a built in downside... prob be diff if we were up 2-1 in this series... lol
Morey is also too smart to sign Anderson to a 80M contract. Spoiler: But... i'm pretty sure Les and/or MDA are culprit for that cause yeah, Morey is too smart for that
Maybe he's hit the 'CP3 wall'... like the rookie wall... i mean he's never played this deep into a season before... lol
No, Daryl Morey is not too smart. He will sign him for 3 year max and team option for fourth year. Ask yourself if you would give Tony Parker the max at his age. Great career, just no longer worth the max.
I really hope Morey isn't dumb enough to think we can win it all with an aging CP3 and Capela (non-existent vs the Warriors) signed to the max. We need Lebron on this team, he's the only person who can beat the Warriors in the league and unfortunately, he will only lend you his services for the max that means CP3 is gets the short end of the stick and has to take a huge paycut. Also we need to get rid of our 20mil hole in Ryan Anderson. This is all not including Trevor Ariza's new contract who is also getting there in age but is essentially our glue guy. We're gonna be one of the oldest contending teams in the league next year...
He's made some great trades...but his signings, Lin, Osik, Ryno, EG3...who else am I missing from this illustrious list?
Convince Cp3 to take the veteran min.....!!!!!!! I seriously wonder how the thought process work for some posters here, like seriously WTF
