right wingers should move to saudi arabia if they want government dictated by religion. there is no god - grow up.
Wait until they ban alcohol again because it’s a sin. They’ll have to put your sick ass in a straight jacket.
We've been frogs in a boiling kettle since Scrotus made Bush president. I don't see it getting any better until people march the street and take control of the process.
Theocracy could only truly exist in marriage with autocracy because of the nature of the diversity of America. You'd need someone who has Putin like powers and more than can completely shut down dissent, and also indoctrinate at a massive scale. You can have the Supreme Court act as anointed Kings like they are, and they will it seems like... but you also need the other levers of power to enforce what they deem to be the law we are supposed to follow. That's why right now the Supreme Court is only limited in the fact that they can overturn Roe, but they have Zero power of enforcement so they can only give the thumbs up to Governors to be sort of mini zealots in their states. The Supreme Court has no enforcement capability. What really makes this Supreme Court scary is if they had this level of zealotry in combination with someone like Trump or DeSantis who could have more control of the military and Justice system to enforce theocratic overturning of our Republic. So yeah... I'm a bit worried about where we are going Glynch, but more concerned about someone like Trump getting a deeper level of control of law enforcement and the military.
Yeah, I feel the same way. Especially because a lot of law enforcement and lower level military guys seem to worship Trump blindly. You combine that with the influx of former mil/LEOs in groups like the Oath Keepers and Boogaloo Boys and the **** we saw in 2020 where the border patrol was being deployed on protesters, and it's extremely concerning.
Well yes…. They have shrewdly infiltrated the judicial and legislative system. Theocrats are the OG virtue signalers
I had an inkling you might. It’s just interesting human psychology, where you accuse your opponents of what you do then make up new jargon to differentiate it. All this new political jargon to describe one’s journey of self discovery!
Ha no. The percentage of "real" religious is very low. 95% don't actually believe or only pretend to believe and show up at Christmas and Easter (or the other faiths equivalents). Barely anyone actually goes to church every week. Barely anyone actually follows the tenants of their faith tradition. IDK why so many people are so dead set on pretending still these days. Not one member of Congress doesn't believe in God? Yea, ok. Pretending to believe in God/be religious is one of the greatest farces going on in America.
I think it depends on where you live. I'd also argue faith and religiosity is an identifier more than anything. Like if someone says they're a Southern Baptist you can tell a lot about where they're from, their beliefs etc even if they aren't actively attending church or actually believe in the Bible.
