I think Parsons will be a pretty solid defender with Carlisle's coaching. He's good at emphasizing player's strengths and hiding their weaknesses.

Nahh, we are way better. We will finish with a better record. Like last year everyone believed that GSW would be better.

Um, Golden State was better, in the playoffs though.

The answers is unfortunately yes. Roster wise, we have similar level talents. But Carlise >>>>> McHale.

How can you say that? Talk about apples or oranges comparison. GSW exited in the first round just like the Rockets.

Rockets had a better regular season record as well as head-head last season. GSW was not a better team.

How are the Mavs stacked when all their players suck on defense and come from perennially losing organizations. Felton and Chandler from the Knicks. Monta from GS and Milwaukee. Aminu from the old Clippers and the Pelicans. Nelson from the Magic. Jefferson was washed up 4 years ago. So filler, riff raff players on bad teams come together with old Dirk and overrated Parsons and now they are contenders and better than the Rockets? With defense as bad as they have from 1-4 starting whether Felton or Jameer start? People are underrating how good Calderon, Marion, Carter, Blair, and Dalembert were last year and overrating this band of losers they picked up this offseason. I know the people posting in this thread can't be this dumb.

Stars and talent win in the NBA. Only Pop is good enough as a coach to swing an entire playoff series in his direction when he has less talent. And even that is debatable. Coaching matters a lot more in football.

We are really understating Terrence Jones. His bad play in the playoffs must have made you guys forget the season he had. He was a huge reason for our success and I expect nothing but more improvement from him next year.

The only thing Carlisle can do to help this team defend is play a zone. At positions 1-4 they are either undersized, poor athletes, or just plain too old to be good defenders. They cannot guard the offenses of SA, OKC, LAC, Hous, GS, and PHX. They are not tough enough to beat Mem. Sounds like an 8-10 seed to me.
