I recently straight canceled on my contract, even though I would owe money. Two days later, the retention department called me back and I got everything for $35+box rental and other bs fees for a year. If you play hardball, they'll come back and re-up you for cheap. It's better than not having you at all.
I signed up through someone here a few years back. Before you order, make sure you have the person's account number as well as their name, address, and phone number. I'm not sure if I got an ******* customer rep, but they were asking me all that information. I didn't have that information available and they ended up only giving me $5 off instead of $10 a month.
Someone I know HATES DirecTV after they switched from U-verse. They hate the delay in channel changing and the signal loss during storms. I LOL'd. Seriously, man. WTF. You have the Latino package (that's what she said), or what? Please explain yourself.

Just click them and you start getting them on your first bill, but do it before they install the service. Cancel the protection plan. You can add it back if you need it. Do you really need the Premier package? Ask them if they will give you $10 off per month if you sign up for auto bill pay. They did for me. I received a promo which included the Entertainment package (140 digital channels) for $29.99/month with 1 additional TV. Both receivers are High Def. My first bill came out to $49.19 with three free months of Showtime. It should go up $5 in year two if I cancel the DVR service for the second TV, and Showtime. The DVR I have works on both TVs. I called them about FSN and they wanted to charge me $12 for it. I said I guess I won't watch Rockets games anymore, and they guy gave them to me free for 1 month. That's all I need since they will be on local TV next season.
Call them and say dish network is giving you a better deal and ask if they will lower your bill or you will cancel. Also, why don't you join the protection plan once you have an issue. They have no way of knowing when your receiver screws up.
