Amen is my guy no matter how much @Hemingway overrates him. He just needs to go back to his position and cut/dunk

I understand why no one wanted to hear it - and a lot fans were upset over burner gate… but this isn’t anything new.

The Rockets played extremely hard last year - but no one was afraid of them in the playoffs. Hard work is great but it only gets you so far when you have hardworking talent.

Then KD was added, and it helped some with the spacing but it isn’t enough and never was enough.

The Rockets have a bunch of players that have glaring weaknesses, they don’t fit well together and they are not special. The foundation isn’t horrible - but it isn’t close to elite either.

The Rockets have a bunch of “nice” or good secondary players.

What KD said is what has been being said around the league.

The Rockets under Stone has had the second pick, the third pick twice, the fourth pick - the twelfth pick and the tenth pick. They have a couple good pieces to show for it.

At this point they will likely run it back with FVV and Adams being paraded as saviors - but they aren’t. They will help but not beat San Antonio or OKC and soon Dallas will pass us by.

The Rockets will either keep this group or trade Sengun for a veteran.

It’s sad and I would love to be wrong - but I’ve seen nothing to change my mind.

That is BULLSHIT, we just got beat by a GLEAGUE Golden State squad who was running a system to beat us with SCRUBS.

You should know a lot better than this.....

A great coach makes a massive difference.

I love the optimism of many on this board have that "Sengun might grow to be Jokic level" but the reality is he is who he is(somewhat closer to the impact of young Sabonis than Jokic) and Houston just never had the opportunity to grab franchise altering talent like Dallas or San Antonio. The only way this team is going to compete with those guys is by building a team that is greater than the sum of it's parts and the first step to doing that is making sure the pieces "fit". There is no magic bullet on the horizon of Sengun turning into Jokic, Amen turning into Giannis, or Reed turning into Steph. There is no '1 of 1' on this roster. Its not to say you can't build a winning roster here - but if we are going to do it, we are going to do it as a TEAM.

It's clear Stone took BPA in every draft and got some solid players so all is not lost - but someone(Stone) has to be bold and start to make some real swings here to build a "team" instead of a collection of players. This writing was on the wall last year and Stone opted to try to supplement one more year of "lets see what we got" by replacing Green and Brook's minutes with KD and DFS and wasting cap on Capela - but I think we are bordering on malpractice here if we don't make moves with our young guys this offseason. At this point Sengun and Houston are starting to get exposed more and more and the value of "promise" is decreasing by the game.

The opportunity loss is real - let's stop living in the fantasy world of fandom. Amen, Alpi, Reed, Tari, Jabari can all be contributors on a title contending team - but they can't necessarily coexist on the same team and THAT is the problem Houston fans and apparently our GM alike seem to be missing.

You can criticize Udoka for MANY things…. But this isn’t all a coaching issue. The Rockets rebuild hasn’t been as successful and the Rockets talent level isn’t at the level of OKC and SA.

After this season, what tier 1 players(e.g., Giannis) would want to come here to team up with KD? This team can't win a championship if no one among our young core is a star. That KD trade set us back. We weren't ready for KD. He's like a shiny ornament on a hooptie. I think our best path forward is to trade KD and keep taking shots in the draft.

the only draft we "missed" on was Jalen Green when we should have got Mobley or Barnes. Other years we just got unlucky because the draft wasn't very good or the franchise players were picked ahead of us.

And yeah management has been bad or/and unlucky. Coach and front office.

To me, that doesn't matter since Stone sold Fertitta on tanking to find that star player they could build around. We went through phase 1 and it turns out we don't have any stars, only role players at best. Stone should answer for that. The best acquisition Stone made during his tenure here was the Udoka hire.

Well they're not wrong. The Spurs have role players who can actually play basketball, whereas we just have a bunch of athletes.

I understand that Amen, Tari, and DFS look more impressive getting off the bus than Stephon Castle, Devin Vassell, and Keldon Johnson, but the Spurs' guys are more skilled. If you swapped Wemby and KD, the Spurs would've still blown us out.

Roster construction and spacing can be managed, by mitigating certain deficiencies and highlighting strengths.

Here is an example stagger Sengun and KD at the top, in fact, Sengun should be on the low block with guys cutting and moving, he is excellent when people are doing that.

This year we stand around and watch KD at the high post ISO over and over......you can't win that way, right now, we would be BETTER as a team if KD wasn't playing at all, because everyone would be contributing and the movement would be there and passing and cutting would be the norm.

Ime is such a weak STAR ****ER that he won't tell KD he is the problem - his numbers are fine but it hurts the overall team's chances of winning, the team would be MUCH BETTER off with FAR LESS of KD.

Now, I don't expect casuals to understand complexities like this....and scream but his stats......it is about so much more than that when dealing with Chemistry.....KD is a selfish ME FIRST player - he doesn't help on defense, he is in the way on offense he doesn't realize he isn't 30 years old anymore and he can be easily jammed up by younger more athletic players - which is what every good team does against us to shut us down, watch the Rox get outcoached again tonight by the guy I wanted as our coach....Adelman Jr.

The problem is 100% Udoka - he has guys in wrong spots consistently, everyone stands around watching KD work and they all get bored, or don't lock in.

If Ime made a SIMPLE adjustment of staggering KD and Alpi a bit and leaning into Reed with others on a PnR, the team would take off - they are not enjoying playing because only KD gets the ball for the most part or when Alpi does get it, no one is cutting.

This is a failure of the worst kind - IME is a FAKE coach, just not good enough.

The team is way better than it's record with a proper coach.

The fact that we were not ready for KD does not mean we are a worse team or that he needs to go imo. These ideas can coexist.

Everyone loved Ime the past two years. What changed this year? Y'all hard on coaches. The main issue is that Stone didn't draft a star. I'd change the GM before the coach.

this is all very embarrassing. i hope a corner will be turned because this is all very depressing to me. they are all laughing at the rockets. at least in previous years we were able to fight people who showed disrespect.
