This is the kind of attitude that gives airlines a bad name.

This is why I think taking a job which requires frequent traveling is teh suxors.

Airports these days are such an inconvenience. Regardless of what kona says.

Not to mention that he would have us believe that a major airline has all of its hangars completely empty of aircraft at its national base of ops at DFW airport. Riiiiiiiiight.

I've had flights cancelled on me twice; both times, it was the last flight of the day, I really had to be somewhere the next day, and people were depending on me so that just saying, "sorry, I got stuck out of town" still wouldn't keep things from being very inconvenient. Both times, I had carried on all my luggage, and just rented a car or found some other way to get back. Once we got stuck in the town where my mom lives; I got her to pick us up, take us home, and drive us the rest of the way the next morning. :) My husband called the airline and managed to get our money back for the part of the ticket we didn't use. So you can try that.

Not trying to sound like a douche. I never claimed to know everything either. Sorry your flight was canceled. I can assure you though. Airlines dont sit airplanes in hangars when there is nothing wrong with them. A plane has to fly in order to make the airline money.

I hate the way airlines are now also. As a pilot, I have watched the airline world change dramatically over the last few years. Airlines dont take care of their employees anymore. Its pretty sad when a pilot starts off below min wage. That guy flying your plane LBB to DFW I promise makes less then 20k a year. The capt maybe make 30k. Employees can only do what mgmt allows them. The person behind the counter cant cold call 50+ people on your flight. They cant control the IT dept. They normally only have 1 or 2 people at the counter now and they also have to handle baggage claim at the outstations like that. All while taking paycuts so they can continue to charge you 20-30 for your bags.

Anyway, hopefully AA at least tried to get you in a better situation. Unfortunately sometimes **** happens.
