Apple TV beat them to the punch with their own Fallout ripoff. Wasn't too happy with that show's cliffhanger...
The history of shows like this is for the showrunner to appropriate the skin of the IP for its built in audience, and then rewrite it with their own vision/agenda (either because they don't like aspects of the original story, or they feel simply copying it is beneath them).
That trailer finished pretty strong Fallout 3 is the GOAT for me, I didn't have any expectations for this show to be any good, but it would really nice if it is. The last of us showed it can be done, and also set a high bar.
So does Fallout have a compilation of cut scenes that tell a story, like Last Of Us, which I should watch on YouTube? Actually, with Last of Us, I was watching the show first, and cutscenes to match the episodes, after.
No Virtually none, it has hours of dialogue where the camera zooms in on NPC's faces (while you do interactive choice replies) and that's about it. It would be pretty much impossible for it to be a key moment-for-moment remake like the last of us, a totally different type of gameplay. I've read nothing about the show, but the trailer looks nothing like any of the stories from 3/NV/4, the 3 fallout games I've played.
If the story is not like FO1 and FO2 or even Nevada I'm just not interested. That being said, I'll probably be a suckered and watch it like I did WOT and Halo.
Apparently Vault 33 is supposed to be in Santa Monica, which i dont think would overlap with anything from anything else.
Glad to see Commodore is already complaining about the possibility of this show being “woke”. What a fun guy.
There is not really a story other than a Fall Out where everyone lives in Vaults built by a Company......tons of Wasteland. (Scavenging) Great bestiary - weaponry. You can spin the story about any of the characters - I never remembered any.....
He is going to lose his **** when the show portrays super mutants as misunderstood or the Brotherhood as anything but paragons.
They appear to have captured the game aesthestic. What they need to do of course is establish characters that can fill the world and use the action sequences to feed those story arcs. Movie or TV, that's the key for this franchise. They have an interesting world even though we know it well, but they need more.
