My Amazon firestick is so lagggy... It is buffering and my internet seems fine I restarted. Reinitialized. Reset to factory settings. Still socks. It is an older (2yrs maybe) It had been unplugged for about 8 months Because of the lagging issue. I have gotten a TV with it built in And no problem. Don't want to buy another TV. Rocket River
Contact amazon and let them know the issue if you’re a prime member they might send you a new one. I have 2 4K sticks and 1 4K fire tv no issues.
Random question (not to thread hijack too bad), but can you use a Fire Stick w/ an existing Smart TV?
I upgraded my Firestick to the new 4K version and it is blazing fast compared to my old one, which was a few years old.
I usually prefer Roku because it avoids all the Amazon vs Google drama, but I don't think you necessarily need to buy a new device. As @tmoney1101 said, contact Amazon support. They are pretty generous. We recently got a free replaced Kindle Fire after we dropped it and broke the screen. In fact we didn't even ask for a replacement - they just offered it after we asked the chat support what was the best way to fix the screen.
Amazon wants to efficiently keep spying on you, they will do whatever to keep their recording devices in your home.
This is the truth. It's also why Amazon/Google so often have their smart home products heavily discounted. But I'll be damned if we don't say "Alexa, play Baby Shark" at least 3 times a day.
I have anewer one with 4K that has the volume button on the remote (and it turns on the TV, essentially universal-sih remote) and it's pretty fast. I replaced a Fire stick that was pretty old. So much faster. They are pretty cheap, so i didn't even think of trying to get them to replace it. But, might try to ask them about this other one, and give it to my mom.
My only beef with it is that it doesn't have HBO Max on it yet. I'm probably going to switch to AppleTv when they come out with their new box. Otherwie Fire 4k has been awesome.
They will eventually. While the airplay over my Vizio TVs is seamless, I’d still prefer the app. Apple TV would have had to of gotten a lot better than the one I used to have for me to make the switch.
Bought a chromecast ultra only to realize later newer 1080p/4k Samsungs has its own casting through phone feature. An iphone app like WebVideoCaster plus whatever your app support your TV is rocking will likely spare you one less listening device... The biggest letdown w/ Chromecast Ultra is that it can play Stadia...only if you buy their overpriced controller. What about people who like mouse and keyboard? SOL So if you're buying 4K sticks for 4K tvs, make sure you're using the TV's smart features to the fullest before inviting another cook in the kitchen.
I bought a nvidia shield, which runs android tv, some months back and it has been great. No lag, great remote, ai upscaling and has hbo max and peacock tv. It is a little spendy but I highly recommend.
