By Garth Franklin Thursday February 17th 2011 03:38AM Adrianne Palicki ("Friday Night Lights," "Red Dawn") is set to slip into the red and blue corset for the title role in the new TV series based on the "Wonder Woman" comic. David E. Kelley ("Boston Legal," "Ally McBeal," "Harry's Law") scripted the pilot and will executive produce the series about Diana Prince, a successful Los Angeles corporate executive and modern woman trying to balance all of the elements of her extraordinary life with her job moonlighting as a vigilante crime fighter. Jeffrey Reiner (NBC's "The Event") directs the pilot while Bill D'Elia ("Boston Legal," "The Practice") will also produce with Kelley. http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/19554/adrianne-palicki-cast-as-wonder-woman-
Awesome choice. She's really hot, and has that tough look that Wonder Woman needs. It'll be weird seeing her as a lesbian symbol, though.
It finished filming last year but since MGM kind of went broke it's been bouncing around distro companies. Also, since China has replaced Russia as the attacking country, there'd been some uproar...
So...are you saying the movie will/should be exploring that aspect as opposed to WW's ass-kicking side? If so...I might be so inclined to see this multiple times.
It's a TV show, and I doubt it. What I mean is that lesbians everywhere will have her picture in their homes, will use her picture for their facebook status, etc.
Maybe it's just me, but superhero TV series never work out for me. Smallville and that failure of bionic woman sucked. Heroes was good at the beginning then I lost interest after the writers strike. I can't remember if there were anything else. I think superheroes are meant for the silver screen.
The Smallville series has been disappointing -- too much of the non-super stuff. Let's hope they focus on Paradise Island; and include Wonder Girl, and some of the her super friends.
Perfect opportunity for me to post: <object width="480" height="390"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/khGUPEdY-Fk?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/khGUPEdY-Fk?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="390"></embed></object> ROBIN's character... LOL
Don't think so; David E.
They won't, I read a review online of the pilot episode(script) and it sounded like Sex and the City meets WW. They will use some of her DC enemies but will focus on her battling crime within the city and not go outside into other DC realms. By the way, Smallville suffered because they dragged it on to long. Seasons 1-4ish were fine but when they stretched it out, it suffered badly. Last season and this one have been much better since they got back on track, turning him into Superman instead of the fluff seasons 5-8 provided.
Aw, nuts. Ally McBeal? Other crap law shows for chicks? Why skew this towards 20-40 year old women? It's a comic book show. Aw, nuts.
PILOT is out already : <object width="480" height="390"><param name="movie" value="https://www.youtube.com/v/ilIodk5wQ6c?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="https://www.youtube.com/v/ilIodk5wQ6c?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="390"></embed></object> I like how all lightning sounds the same. Haha.
Believe it or not, it's just you. While I like the one you chose, I believe this was the photo that should have been used, weslinder.
