ok... y'all have each other's numbers now.

 

There is a formula for people showing up at gigs.

"I will absolutely, no doubt be there." - 80/20 chance
"I will be there." - 60/40 chance
"I will try to be there." - 30/70 chance
"I might make it." - 10/90 chance
"I can't make it." - 10/90 chance

"I'm coming and bringing friends." - 60/40 chance the person shows, 20/80 chance friends come with him/her

It's pure science.

Given that standard, I will try to be there on Thursday, but I can't make it Friday. My chances are better than 30/70, however.

 

Where's the option for the one that comes and brings over a dozen of his friends?

 

Also:

"Sorry I missed you, when are you playing next?"

actually translates into:

"I have no intention whatsoever of EVER coming to one of your gigs."

 

There's also the "What time do you go on?" translated to, "If it is after 10pm, that's too late."

"I could really hear the ____ well." = "The ____ was too loud."
"We can only stay for a little while." = "We'll stay as long as you are good."
"You guys are very good." = "You guys aren't very fun."
"You guys are really fun." = "You guys aren't very good."
"Good job." = "I don't have the heart to tell you that you suck."
"What part of town is the club in?" = "I live in the suburbs and the city frightens me."

There are SO many more.

 

LOL! That's true. The percentage of actually showing up probably goes down inverse to the square root of the age of the person saying the above.

 

I'm a 30/70.

sorry to make it in late, rmtex. work ends pretty darn late (11:00 sometimes a few after that). hopefully catch you on a wednesday or weekend next time around to see the show. it was good to get out and have a couple nonetheless.
