A reason for optimism?

I think regardless of the outcome of "Decision 2.0", the 2014 offseason has reason for optimism amongst Rockets fans.

Think about this, in one scenario we wind up with both Chris Bosh and Chandler Parsons for a team that was the 4th seed in the west. A team that had the same record as the "Super Team" the Heat, and in a much tougher conference. All this being accomplished in the first year of that team playing together. I don't need to spend much time on how great that would be, or on how Chris Bosh would fix so many issues for the rockets both offensively and defensively...Thats a win.

On the other hand say we lose out on Bosh and/or Parsons.

We are going to see Houston Rockets GM Daryl Morey at his finest. He will be unshackled from the burdens of saving cap space for the next big star, and hording assets for potential super star trades.

    Think about it...

Every single move Morey has made up until now had to be within strict parameters of not paying too much in assets so the team could trade for a possible big time star of a Love/Aldridge type and to maintain cap flexibility for this offseason.

We haven't seen what he can do with those parameters taken away. What happens when Morey doesn't have to totally rip off the other teams when making a move because it has to fit the aforementioned criteria? What happens when he can take back a bad contract or two? What happens when he is willing to move any trade asset the Rockets possess? What happens when he can...wait for it...go into the luxury tax!?

I think Morey has made some brilliant moves, and some questionable ones. Regardless of what happens with Lebron James you can bet you haven't seen the best of our GM yet...not by a long shot.

    ;)

I still think all this is a big bluff and LBJ is coming to H Town.

A big F U to Parsons, Cuban and the Mavs. You sign Parsons to an unreasonable, undeserved max, we get LeBron.

Forget that! If Morey lands LBJ, he should be president!
