    I know the answer.

#1, #2 and #5 are extreme long shots to happen.

#3 is the most likley to happen.

I was thinking the same thing... If Cato stepped up, and everyone else is Status quo it would improve this team. But since its not one of the choices, I would have to go with #2. Hard to beat us when Hakeem is healthy.

not sure if you're referring to me or not, heypee!! [IMG]

#1 and #5 are very similar insofar as you're adding a 3rd scoring option to the team. the only question is whether you want it to be a 3 point specialist or a midrange shooter @ the pf spot.

let me be the first to say it : NUMBER ONE!.

hakeem playing a full, injury free season would be great (and would probably net us more victories throughout the season), but i don't think it would be enough - or the right strategy - to beat sa or la or even portland.

francis elevating his interior game is good for all star votes, but if his team doesn't improve, turns him into stephon marbury.

mobley's midrange game is pretty damn good already, IMO, and improving it a little more would not take the team to the next level.

and i'd take a 3rd scoring option from motay over walt. in order for motay to step it up, he'd have to improve his inside game and continue to hit the outside j out to 20 feet. that sounds a lot like cwebb or kg to me. motay doing that improves everyone's game exponentially. all the others only improve that INDIVIDUAL'S game or does not improve the team as much as motay becoming cwebb/kg would.

I would say, without a doubt, Dream playing injury free would give us more wins. That little stretch of 15 games or so last season when he was completely healthy, rebounding, and playing great defense saw our playoff hopes ignited again. If he is healthy all year, he plays with that kind of fire all year, and the Rockets make the playoffs, easily.

I think #2 without a doubt. When Dream is healthy, it not only gives us production from the center postition, but it also gives our team an inspirational lift...such as when we made a serious run at the playoffs.

I think #1 is least likely to happen, because I'm not sure Mo is going to improve all that much. If anything, maybe his rebounding could improve. But, as for scoring, I think he is limited to what we've seen. He just doesn't have that good post up talent to put the ball in the hole in the paint. This does not mean he cannot be productive w/ his shooting, it just means we need another player as a post presence.

Now saw off...there's nothing to see here.

the easy answer is #2, but two good years from dream won't help in the long run. i'm not sure that mo's offence is a problem. if you said mo improves to be a double/double guy then i might go with that. i would have to say that would be nice if mobley improves to where steve is today but, if steve improves to Isiah's level he would make the playoffs by himself. so, i have to go with #3.

it's not that i think glenn and c-webb are equal, it's that i think motay has equal opportunity and ability to be either of those players.

LOSE A LITTLE LOVE HANDLE = GLENN
    GROW A LITTLE TESTICLE MASS = C-WEBB

and i think either of those options would be extraordinarily beneficial to the rockets. either of those players are what it takes to even consider tumbling in the sheets with the twin towers or biff bam boomin with la's dynamic duo.

Mo's improvement seems to be the most beneficial to the Rockets next season, that's why they are try to upgrade to Webber becasue this is what the Rockets are missing from this postion to be successful. I think Mo can do it, if we don't get Webber.

Solid shooting from the three spot would elevate us.

Dream is a small, but integral part of the new offense. Francis needs to score more and pass less because we are in a new era for the point guard position.

No class on slamming the post!

My take is that #2 would be a "dream" situation for us, but unlikely, therefore, I take option #4. Sure I would like to see 1 or 3 happen, but I think CM learning more than 2 options (shoot or drive), would instantly improve any SF on the floor.

Also, Franchise playing a little more D and little less T, would help elevate the Rocs to the playoffs, and him to the All-Star team as well.

Regarding all of the smack on Walt, how many times was he wide open while Cat pounded the ball and then either chose hellishly poor shots or drove into the teeth of the defense? A whole fricken lot !!!

Why all the harsh treatment of Walt? He probably does more for team chemistry than just about anyone and I don't think we got burned by his man as many times as we did Steve's last year!!! Also, Bull doesn't play any better defense that Walt and he is only slightly more consistent with his shot. Like any shooter, he's either on, or he's not, but unlike CM, neither of them try to shoot themselves out of a slump during the course of a game!!

Great question, I appreciate all the thought that went into it!

I remember when the Wiz came out of college, they had grand expectations of him becoming the next "Magic Johnson." He was big, but could bring the ball up & shoot from the outside.

Maybe a good comparison would be to call him a weak defending Scottie Pippen with a great attitude?
