What Zac say is what happened, but to go in detail. Gudmunder Mete was making 17000 pw at Swansea, and he wanted 27000 pw from you, he also wanted a 1.5M min rel clause fee and a sign on of a couple hundred ks. Your board would only allow you to pay 23000 pw, but we still thought it sounded a bit much, so we offered him his Swansea wage, while trying to up the min rel fee to 2.5M. He would not take it. In the renegotiation he had changed his demand, and was willing to do a 3M min rel fee, but he still wanted a hefty payrise. I tried giving him 19000 pw and he agreed to the deal. Back to Williamson, he was not one of those who agreed to a deal (It was Cronin, Poole and Keane) and you even offered him less than he wanted in the first place. The deal he is unhappy with is his current deal (and probably your offer to or he would have just signed that), but as his current deal was up there can come no good out of denying him to be listed as he would just leave if you pissed him off more. If I try to ask him about another deal, he say he want 18750 and stuff (dont remember those parts) and if you want to keep him you have to atleast offer him something, and it does not have to meet his demands. He might still sign for around 14k I would guess, but doing nothing will end in him leaving, without you getting anything in return.

The World Cup has progressed beyond the group stage and into the far more exciting knockout stages. The World Cup run of cinderellas Algeria and Egypt came to a crashing halt as Germany and Spain both destroyed them to move on to the quarterfinals. Argentina also showed why they were considered pre-tourney favorites as they demolished Greece 3-nil, not even allowing a shot on goal from the Greek side. Portugal have found a World Cup nemesis as the United States again knock them out of the competition. Portugal opened the scoring at eleven minutes, but the United States grabbed two quick goals before halftime from Landon Donovan and Clint Mathis. Portugal managed to equalize in the 63rd minute as a particular bit of brilliance from striker To Madeira found Petit open and he slotted home the equalizer. However, the United States had the better run of play and on the 89th minute a Donovan through ball found a streaking Ben Olsen who slammed home the ball past the befuddled Portugese keeper and gave the United States a deserved 3-2 win. Yugoslavia needed two goals in the last twenty minutes to squeak past the Ukraine 3-2. Neither side could claim to have the better run of play in a fast-paced exciting game, and both sides could've have rightly said they deserved entrance into the second round. Italy displayed the talent that made them a tournament favorite, but also the attitude that makes them not likely to win it all. Uruguay notched two goals in the games first 68 minutes, and looked to clearly have the better side that day. However, Italy snatched one back within 30 seconds, and begain to exert their dominance on the match and on 81 minutes they equalized, and it seemed only a matter of time before Italy took the match and on 87 minutes they took the lead 3-2, and held on for the win. Holland and England couldn't decide the issue in 120 minutes and needed to settle the issue from 12 yards out. The Dutch players had ice flowing through their veins as they converted each of their chances from the spot. Unfortunately, the English couldn't match them as they sent two of their shots into the stands as souveneirs and Holland advanced with a 4-2 victory in the penalties. France and Russia also needed to settle their issue from the Penalty spot, and they matched each other goal for goal through the first 3 kicks. Unfortunately, Russia converted their fourth penalty, but defender William Gallas drove his straight at the keeper for a save. When Kohlkov slotted home the 5th penalty France were eliminated from the competition.
World Cup Quarter Finals Germany win a thriller over Yugoslavia as the match proceeds to penalties, after the teams trade goals in regulation. Yugoslavia will be really dissapointed in this result as they played a fantastic match and gave Germany all they can handle after being reduced to 10 men shortly after halftime. Germany will play Holland in the Semifinal as the Dutch side continue their romp through the tournament with a resounding 2-0 victory over Russia. The other semifinal will match Italy and Argentina after the two traditional powers eliminated usual chokers Spain, and tournament cinderellas USA. World Cup Semifinals The World Cup Semis failed to live up to expectations as Holland defeated Germany in a game which featured few chances, and only Holland converted on their opportunities. The other semi featured soccer giants Italy and the home side Argentina was a decidedly one-sided affair, as the European's side's easy-going attitude caught up with them as the Argentinian squad squashed the Italians 3-0, not even allowing them a single goal scoring chance. In domestic news, Reading offered 1.7M for Villa midfielder Tasso Venitis, and the offer was accepted. Omar Johannssen resigned with Crystal Palace. Tottenham's Jon O'Connor announced his retirement, it came as a suprise to most observers. Myntti is moving to Crystal Palace in a deal rumored to be worth 4.3M. That's all I have.

Just so you guys will know. Aston Villa has decided to host the Christian Kemp Memorial Cup tournament this year on 7-29 and 7-30 (or maybe it was the 31st I submitted anyway it is a Friday and Saturday). The tournament is in memory of the beloved ex-Blues manager whose unexpected demise at the hands of the CUFC fans trust, led by star player Alvaro Novo was utterly shocking. The tournament will be played in hopes to raise money to benefit his illegitimate Irish son Holden Magroin. There are two spots left as the hosts have secured one, as well as, an invite put forth to Carlisle in hopes that they never win another match. If anyone is interested please let Heath know. Also here is a picture of the Tournament Trophy.
