With the fans already voting for their player of the year we can take a look at the top candidates: Philip Mulryne Always a fan favorite and the most important player for The Stags since he arrived, and the fans have shown their appreciation by giving him the award for the 3 years he have been here. Can he make it 4 in a row? His production is a bit down this season, and he has only netted 3 times so he will be an outsider for the award again this year. Durgham El-Bawi In his 5th season at Field Mill Durgham El-Bawi stepped up big time as he won back the starting spot he had his first two seasons before he lost that spot to Dan Wiklund without any opportunity to battle for it as he broke his leg. Dan Wiklund quickly made that spot his own with his ballwinning tackling skills at midfield. But with the team problem creating enough goals there came another opportunity for Durgham to win back the defensive anchor in midfield with his supperior offensive skills. Coming back into the role he was also trusted with responsibility to use these skills and he responded extremly well. Danny McDonald Danny has always had a knack for scoring out from his attacking midfield spot. But after he scored 24 goals from 43 appearances in 2006/7 when the team promoted to the premiership, the system was changed for the debut season among the elite and his spot had vanished. The next two seasons saw him average only 16 starts (+18 as sub) as the team altered between the 4-4-2 and 3-5-2. He still held up his knack for scoring getting 15 and 12 goals out of the limited time. This last season however he forced himself into the lineup with superb play, scoring 23 goals from 41 appearances, making him probably the odds on favorite to win the FPoY. Luca Toni also had an impressive first season at Mansfield, but joining late he only got 12 appearances, scoring 6 times.
Joe Oakley was nowhere to be found so I guess the computer took care of that before I added you. Scimeca: Wants to know his status first. He has no indication, and he defaults to a player contract, but you can offer him a player/coach contract if you like. Corbett - done (btw Zac consider this your notice that someone is bidding for your shortlisted player) Also, you sold Nikos Dokos to Cheltenham for 1.8M, Pued will confirm this in his next post I think.
Yeah, I had a corrupted file, I lost everything. I'm trying to recover it, and I think I'll be succesful - but I'm going to delay starting the story at SI till tomorrow or the day after. My sincerest apologies.
So, David Davidson wants out, and I want to let him... for a whole lot of money. I've decided the best route to getting rid of him is to be an ******* about it and hold an open bidding war for Double D's services. All types of bids will be considered - part-exchanges, et cetera. The bidding will begin, ideally, at his listed price of £7,500,000 and will continue until I get an offer I can't refuse . Alert me to your bid however you like - in chat, here, whatever. Edit: oh yeah, this is what David's like. After a brief respite, I, David Vauthrin, present to you, the great fans of this club, an in depth look at the Hotspurs midfield and attack for the upcoming season. First, the midfield. Center Midfielder 1. Noe Diaz-This young Spanish playmaker is a joy to watch. He doesn't have the greatest marking ability in the world so I gave him a free role in my MC spot last year, and he responded beautfifully. He, no doubt, is the starter. He would be really tough to get from me. 2. Simon Davies-This veteran Wales midfielder has a long tenure at the club, and deservedly so. His skill is definitely world class, and he will provide fabulous depth at MC, MR, and DMC. His value is about 3.5 mil, and I don't want to sell him, but offers 5 mil and above I will listen. Left Winger 1. Christian Fox-This versatile midfielder came over to the club from Wolves last year and definitely proved he can play at the premiership level. His big game prowess(2 MoM's, see Leeds game) is a big asset to the team. He will be challenged by newcomer DaMarcus Beasley for the spot though, so I envision using a rotation there most of the year, unless someone shows me otherwise. Fox is valued at 2 mil, and I do not intend to sell him, but offers of 3 mil and above may grab my attention, but not likely. 2. DaMarcus Beasley-My prize acquisition so far this offseason, in a 6 million dollar purchase from the Tampa Bay Mutiny, Beasley is a speedy, creative player with a flair for the dramatic, plus he is American, so there is a sense of personal attachment as well. DaMarcus will see plenty of time at ML, AMC and perhaps MC. He is not for sale. more to come.

Now, back to a preview of the Tottenham Hotspur 2010/2011 team. Continuing at Left Winger after Beasley. 3. Nicky Fox-This is a 17 year old wunderkind, who is my left winger of the future. Valued at 1.3 mil, with his skill and age it would take 3 mil and above to get him. 4. Karl Collins-Listed at value currently, I think Karl has talent but stands little chance of cracking the first team currently. Readily Available to sell. 5. Valentin Tejero-Young Spanish playmaker who has good defensive and winger attributes, so he will be a useful sub, but nonetheless if you wish to offer around his 2 mil value, I will listen. Right Winger 1. Stuart Roberts-This Wales winger is loaded with talent and experience. He did brilliant for me last year and therefore enters this year as the starter, deservedly so. Not for sale. 2. Simon Davies-described above. Attacking Midfielder 1. Shaun Maloney-This outstanding young Scottish attacker flourished in this role for us last year and is unquestionably the starter. He isn't for sale. 2. Jonathan Black-Acquired from Leeds United midway through last season, we haven't seen Black's true potential. He showed flashes of brilliance towards the end of last season, when he knotted his first goal vs Blackburn that helped us win a crucial road game. I think he'll take the leap this year, and is not available. Striker 1. Matthew Blinkhorn-Acquired from Sunderland last year, it did not take "Blinky" long to settle in at Tottenham. He is an excellent finisher of the ball, and so, young to boot. I expect him to play a big role this season and step up to the challenge. Watch him long spearhead Tottenham's attack for a long time. Not for sale. 2. Jon Newby-After recently signing a 3 year contract extension with the club, Jon is primed to give us all he's got to do well in our Premiership encore. He will be challenged by Alex Revell and Jon Black for the spot, but Newby is a team leader, a respected veteran and therefore it will be hard to remove him from the starting lineup. Not really available for sale but offers of 4 mil plus I might listen. 3. Alex Revell-Alex is a 26 year old English attackr brought over from Mansfield Town last season. He is a superb finisher of the ball, and factoring in his age, I expect him to play a key role in our attack for a long time. Not for sale. 4. David Johnson-Johnson is a 33 year old attacker but don't let his age fool you. He can still play, and play quite well. Has national experience as well. His contract expires this year and because of depth around him, his weekly wage and he is a bit of a graybeard, I may choose to let him go. I don't envision selling him right now, but it very well may change and if it does, offers of 1.5 mil plus would be in order. That ends the preview of the 2010/2011 Tottenham Hotspurs, and it looks to be another successful campaign in the works for David Vauthrin and the club.

Nottingham Forest Reds: Forest finished 6th in their first year in the English Premier League, qualifying for the UEFA cup. A highly successful debut in the top league in England. This year, a few key additions should prove instrumental in helping Forest qualify for the Champions League. Positional analysis: Goalkeeper: Forest needs to acquire a new starter in goal. Johan Wiland: Veteran Swede help up well in the EPL last year. Andrew Simpson: Youngster is comparable to Wiland, but needs to show development. Defense: Defense is this team's current weakness. Steven Moore is the best player, but the other two positions need to be shored up. Steven Moore: The anchor of the back line. As solid as any. David Prutton: Plays a D/DM C position. Dissapointing in his first season. Daniel Watts: Youngster with loads of potential. Will be starting, but could be replaced. Mats Wejsfelt: Superb coming off of the bench. Midfield: Very talented, young, but not very deep. In need of a new DM L, and a pair of attacking midfielders. Justin Hutchinson: The most talented player on the team. Sometimes does not play up to his ability. He plays the middle of the pitch with skill and tenacity both with and without the ball. He commands the middle of the field. Opposing midfielders are intimidated by his presence. His creativity and passing are also phenomenal. He is a game breaker. He will continue to flourish at the young age of 22. John Richards: Talented young defensive midfielder. Provides assists with crosses, and also solid defense on the wing. Will continue to improve. David Williamson: Another of the young, talented Forest middies. He will be utilized mainly as a spark off of the bench if certain acquisitions take place. Nathan Davies: Formerly the anchor of the midfield, his position has been usurped by Hutchinson. He can still be useful as a sub in case of injury. Andreas Johansson: Aging attacking midfielder. Useful off of the bench. Attack: This unit of Forest is the most high-profile of the four. Marcus Benson: Undeniably the most exciting player in English football. He topped the score table in his first season in the EPL, disproving many rival managers who believed he could not succeed at the highest level of competition. He scored six more league goals than the next highest scorer, notorious Mansfield diver Danny McDonald. Benson, at only 25 years of age still has plenty of time to conquer European competition. As the star player for Forest, we hope to keep him happy in Nottingham for the rest of his career. Francis Jeffers: Dynamic attacker who is playing an attacking midfield position for Forest. He has proved magnificent in his first good season since he was signed by Forest. Alpha Jongen: Proved to be a clutch scoring spark off of the bench late in games. Simon McLean: Young prospect might be placed on the transfer list.

I thought he signed my new contract? If he did, don't list him, ignore it. If he didn't, forget it... there's no way I'm signing him to 18000 pw. Also, I'm a little confused: Mete rejects Palace contract offer. Crystal Palace set to buy Gudmunder Mete. These happened on consecutive days... what's up?
