Set in 2024. So brace yourself for a post apocalyptic wasteland, with Handmaid’s Tales type cults and massive human depopulation. But hey we also get talking dogs!

My brothers took me to see this for a midnight movie at the Alabama when I was around 8. It made a big impression.

Based on a short story by Harlan Ellison, who seems to be responsible for like 1/2 of all scifi stories in Hollywood in the late 60's, early 70's but who was also an insufferable ass and if he didn't write it, he would claim he was plagerized and sue.

He wrote "City on the Edge of Forever" which is the critics choice for best original Star Trek episode.

Highly eecomend his short story, I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream.
