“We all know there’s only three or four teams that have a realistic shot at winning [the title], and we think we’re one of those four,” Rivers said Tuesday. “We’re focused and we’re happy to be down here.” https://rocketswire.usatoday.com/20...ook-after-hardest-practice-yet-at-nba-bubble/
Somewhere around Jan. 16, 2020, Westbrook changed his approach. The results have been incredible: In his first 34 games this season, Westbrook launched 4.9 3s per game, making a putrid 23.6% of them. He was scoring 24.8 PPG with a ghastly effective field goal percentage (eFG) of 45.9%. (The NBA average is 52.8%). In his 19 games before the shutdown, Westbrook only took 1.9 3s per game, while scoring 32.3 PPG with an eFG of 55.0%. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/29456878/nba-restart-x-factors-eight-players-big-questions
P.J. Tucker is the Houston Rockets’ anchor and defensive captain. Tucker isn’t asked to score 20 points per game or be one of the main options on offense, but he’s invaluable on the defensive end. Tucker has always been the loudest voice on the court when it comes to communication. As seen in this clip, Tucker is always communicating on defense. That’s why Tucker makes it a point to bring this up as much as possible. This was Tucker back in March right before the season was halted, as written by Ben DuBose of RocketsWire: “Our energy, communication, and just the effort that we’re putting out,” Tucker said in listing some of Houston’s points of emphasis. “I’m not saying we’re not playing hard, but we’re just not playing smart.” https://spacecityscoop.com/2020/07/14/houston-rockets-will-lose-if-they-dont-communicate-on-defense/
Hoping Rockets can focus hard on defense, especially communication on defense, while Harden and Russ are out. And both Beard and Brodie are underrated defenders. Especially Harden who is an elite post defender.
Any idea who Rockets will add to replace William Howard? 2 Way Contract player I believe. @The Cat @ch44 @cyberx @Codman
