CB3 and DT depth are the biggest issues on the roster in my opinion. After that I would like them to invest in a potential long term starter at center. Lew and Zuhn III are the guys I like. Then I want a couple weapons to help CJ. I think the tackle that will be available at 28 is going to be Max Iheanachor and I'm not sure the Texans would draft him that high. Outside of center the starting oline is set. I don't see them investing their top 2 picks in a guard or tackle.
Jacas and Lawrence are two guys I would like to add as eventual Hunter replacements. Just not sure the cost (a second at least) is justifiable given this teams goal of reaching the SB this year. But definitely could justify it for the long term.
The Texans need to spend a Day 1 or Day 2 pick this year on a Defensive End in the draft. After Hunter and Anderson, there is only Dylan Horton and Dominique Robinson at the position.
It's a tough year to predict what the Texans will do this year early. The top need is a DT. I like Woods and McDonald at DT for the Texans. But both players will have to be available after the Chargers and Bears pick and both teams are projected to take a DT. The Texans would look at OT at 28 or 38 only as they have depth already at the position. So your hoping Lomu, Miller, or Iheanocher are still available. Starting tackles go early on day one of the draft. If your options at OT and DT are gone, then your looking at Edge, Linebacker, or defensive back. Gabe Jacas would be the best option at Edge for the Texans. At linebacker the only option at 28 is Anthony Hill. CJ Allen is a thumper and lacks the quickness to work in the Texans defensive scheme. At CB, you need someone that will backup Stingley and Lassiter. So your looking at Colton Hood, Brandon Cisse, or Chris Johnson. The Texans have really good starters at almost every position.
Christen Miller is also a possibility. He might even be what Ryans wants in a DT, although I personally like McDonald a lot.
Lance Zierlein has Edge as the deepest position in the draft, DT not so much https://www.nfl.com/news/ranking-11...gest-to-weakest-edge-rusher-linebacker-loaded 1) Edge defender (24.5 points) There were five edge defenders drafted in last April's first round and 11 selected on Day 2. This year, we have another loaded group of QB hunters. Arvell Reese is a developmental prospect with huge upside, while David Bailey is rush-ready as a true pocket pillager. Rueben Bain Jr. brings unique power, while fellow Miami product Akheem Mesidor is the most skilled rusher in this class. Zion Young majors in block destruction as a run defender, and Malachi Lawrence is getting some buzz behind the scenes. This class figures to provide a strong number of future starters, with as many as 17 players poised to come off the board in the first three rounds, but the quality of depth will trail off on Day 3. The edge defenders will rule the first round. T-8) Interior defensive line (17 points) With Caleb Banks apparently nursing a broken foot, we now have three defensive tackles who could be borderline first-rounders in the Florida product, Kayden McDonald and Peter Woods. Beyond that talented trio, the position offers a series of future starters/rotational contributors on Day 2. Zxavian Harris isn't for everyone, but the 6-foot-8, 330-pounder has impressive flashes on tape. Your team might need to draft a DT inside the first 120 picks in order to ensure quality.
