Anyone dove into Theo Johnson from Penn St?? Im starting to run tape and he looks awesome as an all around tight end.

I’ve seen him on quite a few mocks. I really like him. Was also looking at Ben Sinnot just because I think he fits this offense well, but I would be very happy with Theo. Cade Stover would be fun to pair with CJ again but I don’t think he’s the best blocker and we already have non-blocking TEs

Thoughts on Myles Cole as a developmental prospect?

Ooo interesting one. I admit I hadn’t really looked at him until his combine numbers. He’s got the size, and for the most part, his weaknesses are things that can be coached up and he’s got Hunter and WAJ to help teach him. I worry that he’s old and been in college for a while without developing a whole lot. I can’t remember what he was projected but I think I would spend a 6th on him depending what’s available. If he can develop more than one-move pass rush I think he could tap into that athleticism and size and surprise some teams.

if there is one position we can afford a developmental prospect on, it’s DE, so I wouldn’t be mad at it.

I think with Theo the argument was for his size, he should be a much better blocker. Plus he has not really produced a LOT as a receiver.
    (1) I think a good coach & locker room could change his blocking attitude
    (2) the QB play at Penn State may have limited him

I could just be making excuses for him b/c I do like him as a prospect for our squad.

His blocking stands out more than anything for me. Route running needs improvement, but he does have soft hands. He could be valuable those few instances we go 12 personnel.

These were the main 2024 prospects I like (and that I think are attainable) bold = my targets
QB Jordan Travis // Michael Pratt
RB / FB Jonathan Brooks // Trey Benson // Isaac Guerendo // Jaylen Wright / Tyrone Tracy Jr.
WR Xavier Legette // Johnny Wilson (TE)
TE Theo Johnson // Ben Sinnott // Tip Reiman
OT Tylan Grable // Frank Crum I think Grable can play G/T
OG Christian Mahogany // Mason McCormick // Tanor Bortolini
OC Branson Mays // Dylan McMahon
    Edge Tyreek Johnson (UDFA)
IDL Jer'zahn Newton // Jonah Laulu // Kyler Baugh (UDFA) // Anthony Alfano (UDFA)
    LB Trevin Wallace
CB Cooper DeJean // Quinyon Mitchell // Max Melton // Miles Battle (UDFA)
SAF Mark Perry // Dominique Hampton // Ryan Watts (UDFA)

I would be willing (trust BDN) to go up to get DeJean or Mitchell if they made it to the mid-20's or Newton if he was in 29 - 32.

Lol XL praying a team jumps Carolina to take him. I don’t blame him.

I think tight ends that can make plays down the field are a better fit for our offense. With that said, I think that Dalton and Brevin both fill that role nicely and so I don't anticipate us picking a tight end.

Am I the only one that will be comparing the cost to move up this year to the cost for #3 last year?

I'm expecting it to cost an extra 1st and/or 2nd round pick compared to when the Texans traded up.

The 3rd pick will be a QB so it would make sense.

Yep, your first point plays a big part of it.

He showed big play potential, his fluidity at that size and athleticism on tape. Just didn’t put up the production in college.

There is lots of upside potential with him.

I’m sure there are a few people on here hopping the excitement of stroud and this team causes everyone to forget their pushes for us to have waited for a qb this year and trying to trade up. Will be interesting to see what trades happen.

What color-scheme do you think will be on that pick?
