Michael Knorr allowed two hits and struck out four in four innings for Corpus. Jose Fleury got the start and was rolling along until he got roughed up in the 4th; he allowed four runs on seven hits (solo HR allowed), walked one, and struck out four in 4 innings.
Everyone in the Fayetteville lineup had a hit, while Yeriel Santos allowed a hit, walked three, and struck out six over four scoreless innings in their 10-2 win in Myrtle Beach today.
I don’t want to jinx it- but he is built like a young Clemente. He is like a bull, but really loud tools.
And unfortunatley blocked by Julks. If we need an OF the likely order is Julks (short term injury), Loperfido (long term injury), then maybe Leon. Julks needs to end up in a trade soon.
Leon is only blocked by himself. They will make room if he performs. Julks is a AAAA corner OF who might land a teenager in a trade should the Astros get lucky.
I'm presuming he's considered to have more upside than Gilbert had? Or are they about equal? Either way, good to see some potential high ceiling guys' farm progress get reported on... vs. the usual suspects that are approaching the Jake Meyers zone.
I think he is generally considered higher ceiling but also much lower floor. He is much more "raw" and is expected to progress much slower but also has a better chance to stay up the middle and has more versatility as an infielder who could move to CF
A few moves from today and over the weekend... Released Jacob Teter - 25 and in Asheville Kobe Kato - struck out in only plate appearance in Corpus Mark Washington - 8 runs, 6 BB in 3 appearances (3.1 IP) might do that Corpus to Asheville Logan Cerny Sugar Land to Corpus C.J. Stubbs
