Who makes it in the ALDS?

    My take --
    Catchers (2): Diaz, Maldonado
Infielders (5): Bregman, Abreu, Altuve, Pena, Dubon
Outfielders (5): Meyers, McCormick, Tucker, Brantley, Alvarez

SP (6): Valdez, Verlander, Urquidy, France, Brown, Javier
Mid Relief (4): Montero, Graveman, Maton, Stanek
    Setup (2): Abreu, Neris
    Left (1): Sousa
    Closer (1): Pressly

Possibilities: Blanco, Julks, Kessinger, Martinez, Bielak, Dubin, Salazar, Singleton
No Chance: Mushinski, Paredes, Gage, Hensley, Kuhnel

**EDITED: Left out Stanek originally. Are pitchers capped at 13?

Yes, capped at 13. And Sousa is ineligible for the playoffs.

Is there a limit on the "taxi squad" guys (injury replacements)?

Would like Salazar to make it so Diaz isn't the emergency catcher.

That's the only roster pinch I can see. Not sure who you'd drop for him, but Diaz as a PH option in the games he's not starting (won't be with JV/Framber/Javier on the hill) would be an excellent option. Don't think that's worth burning a roster spot on a 3rd catcher though.

It absolutely is. Leave singleton off. And you only need 11 pitchers in the ALDS.

If Dusty plays today's lineup, who would he pinch hit for other than Maldy?

I feel like it would give Dusty incentive to pinch hit for maldy with Diaz. Otherwise if Diaz replaces Maldy and gets hurt, we don't have a catcher. Dusty will have Diaz sitting there watching.

I think both Singleton and you/I have the same chance of making a postseason roster.

Montero has zero business being on the roster.
    He will make it though.

He never pinch hits for people unless it's late in the game. He wouldn't pinch hit for Maldy even if he had Bonds on the bench unless it was after the 7th inning.

Dusty will make history by being the first manager to only bring one catcher onto the roster.

I’ll have to think about it - but my first inclination is to keep Montero off the team. He started the season well, then was horrendous - bounced back well but then was bad the last month. I don’t have any trust in him. I would far rather have Brown pitch in those opportunities- same with France/Urquidy if we choose to go 3 deep in the rotation when we can.

I think we go with 3 catchers as well. If I have a concern, it’s that the defense has been a little sloppy so wouldn’t mind a good defensive catcher backing up our top two guys.

He will....luckily Dubon isnt bad this year. McCormick will be LF most likely and Brantley rests.

Revised take considering eligibility and MLB roster rules with preferred lineup:

    2B - Altuve
    3B - Bregman
    DH - Alvarez
    RF - Tucker
    C - Diaz (yes, I know)
    LF - Brantley
    1B - Abreu
    CF - McCormick
    SS - Pena

    Backup C - Maldonado
    Emergency C - Salazar

    Utility - Dubon
    3rd OF - Meyers

    SP1 - Verlander
    SP2 - Valdez
    SP3 - Javier
    SP4 - Urquidy

    Long - France, Brown
Mid Relief - Graveman, Stanek, Maton
    Setup - Neris, Abreu
    Closer - Pressly
