I would give WA the DROY and I was on the Carter bandwagon. Carter petered out at the end of the season when his team needed him the most. I really wanted Caserio to draft both of them instead of Stroud so what do I know. Both great players though, on another note, who would've thought at the beginning of the season the Eagles would be sitting at home and the Texans would still be playing. (Unbelievable)

Well that didn’t go according to the gamble for Arizona. They get the 2023 #12 pick, and a high 2nd round pick in 2023. Then they get the number 27 2024 pick (which they probably were expecting would be top 10). And they get a late 3rd round pick.

ironically the Texans traded the 4th round pick they received from Arizona, and flipped it for the 85th pick in 2024, which is now higher than the 3rd round 2024 pick the Texans sent Arizona.

What a great trade. Seems the Texans on two occasions sent unprotected 1st round picks, that ultimately became high draft picks after similar trades the previous year.

I have eaten my crow with my criticism of he gave up too much for WAJ. Boy, I was dead wrong.

    In Caserio we trust.

If we think about this as sorta the real cost for CJ, this was an absolute steal. I wanted WAJ, but not CJ, and I was dead wrong.

In retrospect this looks like really smart GMing. Well done Cas!

TBF, if you're the highest drafted defensive player, DROTY is a reasonable expectation.

I was 100% on the Will Anderson at #2 pick. I thought he’d be the anchor DeMeco Ryan’s needed on his defense. I’ll admittedly say I was melancholy after the Stroud pick, because I saw him as an owner’s meddling. Of course now that he was a Texan I was hoping he’d be legit, but I thought perhaps a reach.

I figured that was it, and went out for an errand, in the time I walked to my vehicle and turned on the radio listening to the excitement from the sports host about now that Will Anderson was a Texan, I was in shock. Since I was driving, it wasn’t until I got to my destination that I was finally able to see what it took to move up, I was dreading it was 3 number 1 picks and a plethora of more sparked out 2nd and 3rd round picks. I was relieved when I saw it was only 2 #1, a 2nd, and a 3rd.

I think Will Anderson justified why so many of us wanted him on the team at #2. But I will acknowledge I was completely fooled by the negativity from the national media regarding Stroud.

Caserly had a draft of the ages in 2023. And he got Stroud as reward for a 3 win season. He got Will Anderson via his ingenuity, plus because just how bad they were in 2022/2023 season. Arizona gambled huge, and they lost.

The saving grace for Arizona is they still got the OT they would have taken with the #3 pick after they trade back up to take him. Plus now they have a late first round pick this year.

Caserio essentially did give up three 1sts and a 3rd for WA.

    2023 picks 1-12 and 1-32
    2024 picks 1-27 and a 3rd rd pick.

A lot to give up, but it's worth it for game changers.

The equivalent in a normal year. Wasn’t it Miami that lost their first?

We'd still only have the first pick of the second round

In a normal year pick 32 is a 1st rd pick. with the Dolphins losing a 1st rd pick, the 33rd pick was really the 32nd pick. Even if I'm wrong the Cards got the 1st pick of the 2nd rd, which is essentially a 1st rd pick.

Dude lol we had the second pick of the second round last year. Not the first pick of the second round. Normal year, it's the 34th. Last year, 33.

    Maybe I'm missing something
