Free agency can be an opportunity for a rebuilding team by signing players who can outperform their contracts. Wood is a good example - even if it may not work out long term. What 2022 unrestricted free agents can the rockets reasonably sign that won’t kill our space for 2023? here are a few I like: Jalen Brunson (25) Mitchell Robinson (24) Malik Monk (24) Tyus Jones (25) Kendrick Nunn (26) Jalen Smith (22)
Brunson is said to be seeking a 4/80 deal don’t see the need for Malik Monk…he’ll probably be asking for like 3/30 or something with the year he’s having…he looks good playing next to Lebron and AD…Rockets sign him and he’ll go back to being the irrelevant role player that he was…we have the white Malik Monk in Gary Mitchell Robinson intrigues me if we don’t draft a big for whatever reason
It doesn’t matter because Stone is going to max out Wood & KPJ. I’d be shocked if he doesn’t. He loves these dudes. Then he’ll extend Silas and we’ll get more of the same.
Would imagine the "free agents" added will be the 2 draft picks. Let's hope neither will need time in the G!
I would at most hope for nothing more than one year deals. If Jalen and KPJ take the leap next year, 2023 will be the year we can compete
I'll pass on all of those on the UFA list ... None of them are building blocks. You might get me to bite on Ayton in a S&T if we don't get one of the top 3 big men in the draft ..... depending on the cost and if PHX is willing to do business. Otherwise, I'm sitting this FA out completely.
